SO16_Saint Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 Had anyone got any first hand experience of this company? They're all over Facebook and I think used to be called still haus kitchens. I've read the reviews on Facebook but want to know real life experiences.

bridge too far Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 There used to be an allegedly dodgy company called Kitchens Direct a few years ago. I think it was based in the Manchester area. It used to re-invent itself periodically, following bad press, usually using a slightly different name.

They are a 'supply only' company, so it's all very well and good them saying 'pay on delivery' (and I think some people were posting that they would only accept cash....) but that still means you could end up with something sub-standard as you won't know for sure if it's 'fit for purpose' until after it's fitted, by which time they've sailed off into the distance. Are the delivery team going to wait for a couple of hours while you unpack and inspect everything? (rhetorical question klaxon ) And how confident would you feel about the quality of the after sales customer service of a company that puts no contact details whatsoever on their website? Call me Mr Cynical but....
Golden Balls Posted 21 January, 2015 Posted 21 January, 2015 If in doubt, don't use them. Plenty of good kitchen companies out there. One in Hedge End (Kitchen Living I believe) are decent.

Afterwards you can post a review on here and we can have it as a warning or endorsement. Time to stop being selfish and take one for the team SO16. If it all goes wrong Steve Grant says you can have your fiver back.
SO16_Saint Posted 22 January, 2015 Author Posted 22 January, 2015 That may well be the case, Tokyo, if the Mrs gets her way. I'd much prefer to use www.kitchenrefaced.com to be honest (they quoted £2100, for the same kitchen Wren quoted £6100).
