ART Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 Was at the O2 ;ast night. Reckon his condition is more serious than they're letting on. He never replies to questions about his injury.
Saint_clark Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 Would have made a much better replacement for Pelle up top than Long, might have even gone through in the league cup had he been fit.
Stu Man Do Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 Have the club actually ever said what is wrong with him? Pretty extensive injury to have missed 6 months worth of games.

supersonic Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 He's had a a back injury and a thing/groin injury as far as I'm aware. Taking a while as had a few set backs, club are putting him under zero pressure due to importance in physical development.

DuncanRG Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 I'm looking forward to seeing him back. He showed some very good signs last year and could mean we don't have to go in and buy another striker in the summer.
Wiggles31 Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 His father passed away last year. Wonder whether he's also had personal issues (understandably) since then combined with an injury. Can see him thriving under Koeman.

From what I've seen of Sam he isn't a target man he seems to prefer to play on the shoulder of defenders and turn them rather than playing with his back to goal. Yes but he is quite tall and therefore clearly the PERFECT replacement for Graziano Pelle who is also quite tall so they are very similar you see. Saint Charlie Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 He needs to go out on loan really Agree. IMO was pushed into the first team a little too soon last year. Needs to refine his game and score some goals before threatening to get a start at PL level. He has some great attributes, very raw, but I don't see many scenarios where he could play instead of Pelle without seriously weakening us. Plus has been out injured for months, will need quite a number of U21s games before being anywhere near sharp enough.

He could be a good PL striker, but not yet. And certainly not straight after missing months through injury.

VectisSaint Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 Was at the O2 ;ast night. Reckon his condition is more serious than they're letting on. He never replies to questions about his injury. You sure Sam was at the O2? Lou Gallagher (is that his GF?) was there for the Queen/Lambert gig, Sam retweeted her tweet on Twitter, but there is nothing to suggest Sam was there himself. In any case, if he was there so what? I guess this is just Art making up things about people he does not like, a la Schneiderlin, again.

Colinjb Posted 18 January, 2015 Share Posted 18 January, 2015 Fingers crossed for him, understand he's had a difficult time but is nearly there. Good luck to him, alongside the other academy lads he underpins just how well our infrastructure and ethos is functioning.
igsey Posted 19 January, 2015 Share Posted 19 January, 2015 I'd have thought training with world class coaches in one of the best academies in Europe would be more beneficial to Gallagher than playing League 1 football and getting battered on pitches used more for rugby. Looking forward to seeing him back, seem to remember he had very good movement off the ball even if his shooting left something to be desired. CWD Posted 19 January, 2015 Share Posted 19 January, 2015 Matt Patterson v2015. Not sure they're comparable... Gallagher has a goal in the PL and held his own against Arsenal, Paterson is playing (albeit very well) for Gosport Borough.
