SuperSAINT Posted 22 January, 2015 Posted 22 January, 2015 Koeman: "We want to know Jack Cork's decision next week. If he wants to move then we need another midfield player" Fair enough.
Rut Posted 22 January, 2015 Posted 22 January, 2015 Does anyone know if this is being shown live anywhere in the world... ie will there be a stream? Cheers It currently isn't being shown in the USA (either live or on delay). It's not an exact science but often this means it ain't on anywhere else. Hopefully the Radio Solent commentary will be available again (like it was for the Ipswich home game). Way better than nothing.
sadoldgit Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Rut, how are you? Remember your from the good old days of the SaintsList.
sadoldgit Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Koeman: "There is nothing serious in the John Guidetti rumours. At the moment we are not looking for another attacker" Okay but I am not sure why. Most "top" teams have 4 strikers. I don't see Long as an out and out striker so we have.....one. If we still get goals from elsewhere this is not a problem but another proven goal scorer would be good.

If we still get goals from elsewhere this is not a problem but another proven goal scorer would be good. Mane will be back in a few weeks, Mayuka hadn't been injured at the time of the interview and Elia looks physical enough to do a job up top IMO. We will be looking at another striker in the summer that's almost definite, but we're not about to spend beyond our means.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Mane will be back in a few weeks, Mayuka hadn't been injured at the time of the interview and Elia looks physical enough to do a job up top IMO. We will be looking at another striker in the summer that's almost definite, but we're not about to spend beyond our means. The last time Saints were pushing for glory in the League Lawrie Mac reckoned we were one player short and set up a deal to buy Jim Bett, a Scottish midfielder. For the first time ever the Board did not back him and when Woodford told Lawrie he had doubts about Bett's tackling ability the deal fell through. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for Lawrie who decided to leave. Sometimes that one extra player can make a big difference in the final run in and I hope we don't lose a good chance to make a name for ourselves because of over prudence or a let's wait until the summer attitude. We may never have a better chance.
CB Fry Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Koeman: "There is nothing serious in the John Guidetti rumours. At the moment we are not looking for another attacker" He said that about right backs/additional defenders in the summer. I believed him. Then he pulled Toby out of the bag.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Can't see us winning this...has banana skin feel. Pens disaster?
jawillwill Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Can't see us winning this...has banana skin feel. Pens disaster? A banana skin penis disaster would at least give them something to talk about on MotD.
Saint_Jonny Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Looking forward to this one Looking like a crisp and chilly afternoon, think we'll wrap up the victory early doors and I will be off to the takeaway with a smile on my face.
Bad Wolf Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 He said that about right backs/additional defenders in the summer. I believed him. Then he pulled Toby out of the bag. I think he was telling the truth at the time because he'd given up on Toby because he didn't think it was realistic.
bender Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 I may for once get a programme if you get a replica of that 76 programme

Yuki Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Most Southampton fans in Japan will not be anxious for this game as the EPL is the focus. ****ed off that we ****ed up against UAE but very happy it means Maya will start versus Swansea and QPR.

Toby should be back by then. Also quite likely Koeman might stick with Gardos now he's had a run of games.
Yuki Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Toby should be back by then. Also quite likely Koeman might stick with Gardos now he's had a run of games. I think Maya will start if he is fit. Will have been kept sharp over past weeks and is much more refined than Gardos. New contract will make him one of the most prestige players at the club!!
VectisSaint Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Don't kid yourself Lawrie Mac left for the big money sunderland were offering him at the time but all he got them were relegations Well strictly speaking he didn't. They were relegated to 2nd division before he joined, and he left in the March before they were relegated again to the 3rd division. But you're right, he was the highest paid manager in English football, so yes of course he left for the money.

JxgrSaint Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Nice piece on the '76 Semi Final: http://ind.pn/1yZhaSx

Goatboy Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 Gardos is better and will play. He may be better but is he as honourable as Yoshi-san?
Lets B Avenue Posted 23 January, 2015 Posted 23 January, 2015 He may be better but is he as honourable as Yoshi-san? I'm guessing Yuki is really Glasgohito.
warsash saint Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Looking forward to this but imagine it's gonna be chaos coming from the east with the roadwork's on Northern Bridge!
SaintBobby Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 I really want us to sign a player called Richard now. Can someone demand this of RK please?
wild-saint Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Looking forward to this but imagine it's gonna be chaos coming from the east with the roadwork's on Northern Bridge! but surely yoshida will fly home not drive?
alehouseboys Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Looking forward to this but imagine it's gonna be chaos coming from the east with the roadwork's on Northern Bridge! If you're coming in from the east then best to avoid 'Northam' Bridge altogether. Park in Woolston and walk over the Itchen Bridge. Another warning for today, watch out, there's "hundreds in the home ends" http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=150554&page=10 Poor lad, seems to be suffering with p*rtsmythitis.
colman1860 Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Perhaps a long shot at this point, but my match has been called off today, so I'm suddenly able to go. Anybody have a ticket to sell? 07462 875974
red&white56 Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 "100s in the home end" Can't be any worse than when we palyed Arsenal there deemed to be loads of people not celebrating the goals and leaving early. As long as we win who cares...
Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Hard to believe this is a sell-out. And with no streaming or TV, it's back to the bad old days of Merrington on Solent then.
whelk Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Was there any follow up to Pardew on SSN saying something about 'doesn't mean we will stay teh model club'? Only heard briefly in background and then went to adverts.

Saints Warrior Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 I think 3-1 to Saints. Although Palace are better now than at start season and saints depleted I still think the players on the pitch will want to win and show how good they are. The cup is a leveller so with Palace being favs as a banana skin team that then means Saints are the under dogs.
whelk Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Entire broadcast section of the press conference here... [video=youtube;KKF-qcjnZYw] Thank you. Bloody just hangs in Tapatalk and new version doesn't even seem to have setting to open using YouTube not within the App. So sh1t
Coxford_lou Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Talks quite a bit about Saints from about 5.45 in. They ask him more about us than they do CP!
Bucks Saint Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Talks quite a bit about Saints from about 5.45 in. They ask him more about us than they do CP! Still loves and admires us. Fair play.
Jonnyboy Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Hard to believe this is a sell-out. And with no streaming or TV, it's back to the bad old days of Merrington on Solent then. Cheap tickets innit. Sold out in a day.
Saint_clark Posted 24 January, 2015 Posted 24 January, 2015 Still loves and admires us. Fair play. Some slightly ill informed questions there, always bugs me. Things like "you took over at the club after administration, after the likes of Bale and Walcott had gone"...Walcott left 2 and a half years before we went into administration ffs.
