Now after the run of games we have just had in the league, this looks easier, in the lead up to Chelsea away.

Southampton v Swansea

QPR v Southampton

Southampton v West Ham

Southampton v Liverpool

WBA v Southampton

Southampton v Crystal P

I cannot predict as my head and heart can only see one result in all these games..... We know this will not happen. But can we please set a new club record of 7 straight wins by beating Liverpool.

Winning these six games in a row is the sort of thing Champion's League contenders do. Getting anything less than 11 points hurts our chances.

I think we need to look at it as 5 blocks of 3 games. We need 6 points from every 3, which would put us on 72 points, then there's the Man City game. So not every game is a must win. It's crucial now that we don't put too much pressure on ourselves. So yes, anything less than 11 and we might be playing catch up

it never works like that.

not many suggested we would lose at burnley and even villa

Exactly, 6 wins just isn't going to happen.4 wins and 2 defeats is realistic enough though, it really doesn't matter who we drop points to though. I think we will beat Swansea, QPR and West Ham games will be trickier. It's more important for us to beat Liverpool than it is West Brom or Crystal Palace. It is a great time now to be a fan, but so strange when we have to check the results of Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs!

take every game as it comes, at the end of the day, to be fair

looking at our games played and points accrued we are set up for 72 points at the end of the season if we maintain our average, so looking at the next 6 games to maintain that we need 12 points (11.45 average).

Anything above that is all the more welcome.

Spurs have some horror games coming up in Feb (schedule + fixture), Man U have an easy Feb coming up but for them March onwards gets very hard as they play all the big teams.

If we took 12 points, ie 2 points per game, then we would more than likely at least keep the gap between us & the "chasing" teams, but with only 10 games remaining.

I thought last night if we picked up 25 points from the last 16, it means that Spurs have to pick up 30 - very nearly 2 points a match whilst still in 3 cup competitions

I think we are in a favourable position having already played Arsenal and Utd twice, plus games against Spurs and Liverpool are at home. Ive not really checked our rivals' fixtures, too worried about our own!

Utd have a pretty tough schedule, their game against Arsenal at the penultimate round of matches could well decide who gets 4th place.

Also is that like the 4th or 5th time Erikson has saved spurs in the 80 + minute, surely he's due a hamstring tweak as they have been flattered (chelsea apart) by their recent form as they were crap in a lot of those games they won.

Also Sanchez is due a spell out I think with a bad back from carrying his team all season.

I can see 6 wins...puts us on 60 points with 10 remaining...

You'd be disappointed if we didn't get champs league from that kind of position, infact 4th would be a bit of a let down.

This winnable batch of 6 games could make a champs league place almost inevitable. A stunning achievement if it happens.

Injuries are our Achilles heel though, we need a bit more luck than we're having at the moment because things are getting more and more stretched.

Would expect 3rd after that run if it happened.

I really don't know how to call it. Of course I don't want to get carried away, but we really should win all those games.

I think we'll get between 9 and 12 points. Would be disappointed with less and chuffed to nuts with more.

This. Winning all six is fairyland stuff and if we do we're nailed on third, let alone fourth.

We'll lose at least one of the next six but it doesn't mean we can't make fourth.

Iiverpool at home will be interesting

No doubt they will have Sturridge back and fit by then

Hope we have a clean bill of health too

Bony-less Swansea will still be difficult, but their form is pretty dodgy at the moment. 1-1 or 1-0 Saints.

QPR half decent at home and scrapping for their lives... Though we should start to get our injured players back by then. 1-1 or 2-1 Saints.

West Ham a dangerous side now they've hit their stride. Good attacking options so we'll have to keep it tight. 1-1 or 2-1 Saints.

Liverpool also hitting some form now and now blobfish face has figured out Coutinho is their key player. Sturridge could be back by then too. That said, this game is sandwiched between their Europa league games. Would be great to smash these tests though. Don't see a draw, it'll be decided by a goal either way. 2-1 Saints or 0-1 Liverpool.

West Brom... Will be a lot tougher now Pulis is in charge. Will be tight and I suspect they'll test Forsters weaknesses. 1-1 or 2-1 Saints.

We should be far too good Palace and if they're midtable by then, then perhaps we might roll the over comfortably. 2-0 Saints.

Having said that, we could still conceivably post 6 losses such is the different permutations, flash points and randomness of this year's Prem.

We could well have Jay Rod back by then as well, along with Mane, Alderweireld, Wanyama (?), Schneiderlin, Yoshida.

Potential team for the Liverpool game...

Forster

Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Bertrand

Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Davis

Mane/Tadic, Pelle, Elia

Bench: Davis, Mane/Tadic, Cork, JWP, Rodriguez, Long, Gardos

No room for Reed, Yoshida, Targett.

So somewhere between 7 and 18 points then ... or maybe even 0

Hey danger mouse, I am around the other way. Grew up in Southampton and ended up in Royston, where my wife Liz Jones grew up, via Guildford, Reading, Cheltenham, back to Southampton. Moved to Royston in 2006. I am the big 40 and my wife is 33. She grew up on the Grange!

Oh. She's one of them pikey lot then ;)

We lived in Hill Side, went to St. Mary's (school). Nearly drowned in the Meridian pool when I took my arm bands off like a bell end, was plucked to safety by a woman with massive norks. Good times. I'm 38 btw.

All winnable games, on paper. I just really really hope that we can beat Liverpool, give Lambert a rousing chorus of 'Southampton's goal machine' whilst putting 6-7 past Lovren and breaking Lallama's ankles.

West Ham will be tough, don't think we'll win that unless we've got Toby back to deal with their lump upfront.
