Dan Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 Apparently neither of our kits are suitable so we have introduced a third kit. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150116-yellow-kit-2206433.aspx Looks fairly plain and more of a training shirt. Nevertheless, Great to see us back in Yellow!
Golden Balls Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 Odd considering red & white V black & white was acceptable at St Mary's. Clearly a decision driven by the TV company

I thought we'd have broken this out for Palace, but there you go. And they're not selling it, so anyone want to get me one? :/

Yes, having been there for their French Day a couple of seasons ago, when Schneiderlin amusingly scored the opener.
The9 Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 Looks more like puce Lemon than Saints yellow. It's the same colour as the yellow on the shorts and socks they've already worn numerous times this season. Daft thing is that you can buy the socks, because they're the GK socks. The yellow shorts are very similar to the keeper's shorts but with a different coloured Saints badge, the navy shorts they're wearing are obviously the normal away shorts. They must have had special dispensation from the Premier League because the yellow shirts aren't listed in the PL handbook (though the yellow alternative shorts and socks are). ART Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 Talking of goalkeepers, another kit I can't stand is Forster's wishy washy pale grey pyjamas. |Told him so too. He's let in most goals when wearing them. Besides the looks absolutely stupid in them.
once_bitterne Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 I wonder if this is at the behest of the sponsors who wish for their 'Muvi' brand to be shown on the live tv game which it wouldn't be if we played in the home strip.

CB Fry Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 Odd considering red & white V black & white was acceptable at St Mary's. Clearly a decision driven by the TV company Or the ref, might be a judgement call from a different ref to before. Match played under lights too rather than 3pm, not sure if that's a factor. Is the same company so they wouldn't be that bothered. Plus we wear red and white for some away games too where the kits don't clash and that is known when the sponsorship starts. krissyboy31 Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 TBF I was very surprised that Sunderland were allowed to wear red and white in the derby game at St James'. Likewise that Newcastle were able to wear their home kit at St Mary's. I thought the rules must have been relaxed but obviously not!

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 16 January, 2015 Share Posted 16 January, 2015 Missing a trick by not making it available. Similar situation to when we had two Hummel shirts in the 80's that were never made available to the public, oh, and the all red Patrick shirt we wore at Blackburn in the early 80's. adysaint Posted 17 January, 2015 Share Posted 17 January, 2015 This was always my worst fear: The commercially unavailable 3rd kit. I have OCD and one my things for Saints is I MUST WEAR THE CORRECT SHIRT otherwise it is MY FAULT IF WE LOSE. Remember the 5-0 at SJP under Dave Jones ? That was my fault. I half expected it for Palace. If we got away with it there, and Newc wore their B&W at ours. Maybe the conditions look worse under floodlights. For the Derby Play Off Semi I had to pay £400 to win one of the Auctioned 3rd kits cos I knew we would wear it in the 2nd Leg. My only other option is to stand outside the ground and pester the kit man to 'loan' me one. And I also have to re-print my little fixture PDF (for something like the 10th time) cos it has a little picture of the right kit next to each game.
