Dan Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Apparently neither of our kits are suitable so we have introduced a third kit. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150116-yellow-kit-2206433.aspx Looks fairly plain and more of a training shirt. Nevertheless, Great to see us back in Yellow!
Golden Balls Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Odd considering red & white V black & white was acceptable at St Mary's. Clearly a decision driven by the TV company
trousers Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Clearly a decision driven by the TV company Good point. I hadn't considered that. I guess that means that Sky will foot the bill for it then.
TUS Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Good to see the Yellows back, even if it is a one off.
The9 Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Apparently neither of our kits are suitable so we have introduced a third kit. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150116-yellow-kit-2206433.aspx Looks fairly plain and more of a training shirt. Nevertheless, Great to see us back in Yellow! It's exactly the same design as the navy away with the colours reversed, not sure why you think it looks like a training shirt? I thought we'd have broken this out for Palace, but there you go. And they're not selling it, so anyone want to get me one? :/

I thought we'd have broken this out for Palace, but there you go. The9 Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Even if Shane Long wants to throw his to us at the end of the match, have you got any idea how far up into space we are sat. Yes, having been there for their French Day a couple of seasons ago, when Schneiderlin amusingly scored the opener.
The9 Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Looks more like puce Lemon than Saints yellow. It's the same colour as the yellow on the shorts and socks they've already worn numerous times this season. Daft thing is that you can buy the socks, because they're the GK socks. The yellow shorts are very similar to the keeper's shorts but with a different coloured Saints badge, the navy shorts they're wearing are obviously the normal away shorts. They must have had special dispensation from the Premier League because the yellow shirts aren't listed in the PL handbook (though the yellow alternative shorts and socks are).
ART Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Talking of goalkeepers, another kit I can't stand is Forster's wishy washy pale grey pyjamas. |Told him so too. He's let in most goals when wearing them. Besides the looks absolutely stupid in them.
once_bitterne Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 I wonder if this is at the behest of the sponsors who wish for their 'Muvi' brand to be shown on the live tv game which it wouldn't be if we played in the home strip.

Lets B Avenue Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Perhaps the home kit hasn't been washed since Wednesday night.
CB Fry Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Odd considering red & white V black & white was acceptable at St Mary's. Clearly a decision driven by the TV company Or the ref, might be a judgement call from a different ref to before. Match played under lights too rather than 3pm, not sure if that's a factor.
Saint Charlie Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 I wonder if this is at the behest of the sponsors who wish for their 'Muvi' brand to be shown on the live tv game which it wouldn't be if we played in the home strip. Is the same company so they wouldn't be that bothered. Plus we wear red and white for some away games too where the kits don't clash and that is known when the sponsorship starts.
krissyboy31 Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 TBF I was very surprised that Sunderland were allowed to wear red and white in the derby game at St James'. Likewise that Newcastle were able to wear their home kit at St Mary's. I thought the rules must have been relaxed but obviously not!
jawillwill Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 I wonder if The9 has spunked himself at the thought of a surprise new kit yet?
ART Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Just seen a new post and photo from Prowsey on Face Book and the shirts are Yellow with f* cking horizontal PINK stripes!!!!!!!!!! Click image to enlarge to full size
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Missing a trick by not making it available. Similar situation to when we had two Hummel shirts in the 80's that were never made available to the public, oh, and the all red Patrick shirt we wore at Blackburn in the early 80's.
BlakeySFC Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 I swear in Newcastle V Sunderland, Sunderland played in their home strip, and that was on TV, makes no sense to me?
Saint_clark Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Just seen a new post and photo from Prowsey on Face Book and the shirts are Yellow with f* cking horizontal PINK stripes!!!!!!!!!! Click image to enlarge to full size Looks more orangey to me. They should give these shirts away in a competition if they're not selling them, they look great. Bet they're up for auction on the saints foundation website later in the season.

simo Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Short sleeved keepers kit ? I do like it though!
VectisSaint Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 I swear in Newcastle V Sunderland, Sunderland played in their home strip, and that was on TV, makes no sense to me? Sunderland wore white shorts: http://footballdiscussion.net/2014/12/adam-johnson-goal-vs-newcastle-nufc-v-sunderland-highlights-video-december-21-2014/
Redslo Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Odd considering red & white V black & white was acceptable at St Mary's. Clearly a decision driven by the TV company Stripes do present a problem for viewers on TV. Hull stripes and our stripes were a pain to watch.
simo Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 They did the same thing a few years ago with a fly be kit (the year I did football aid)
Whitey Grandad Posted 16 January, 2015 Posted 16 January, 2015 Stripes do present a problem for viewers on TV. Hull stripes and our stripes were a pain to watch. You think that's bad. Some of us remember the days of black and white telly when a cup final between Everton and Liverpool or such like was grey against grey.
adrian lord Posted 17 January, 2015 Posted 17 January, 2015 Looks more like puce Lemon than Saints yellow. interesting - on my monitor it looks very reminiscent of May 1st 1976.
adysaint Posted 17 January, 2015 Posted 17 January, 2015 This was always my worst fear: The commercially unavailable 3rd kit. I have OCD and one my things for Saints is I MUST WEAR THE CORRECT SHIRT otherwise it is MY FAULT IF WE LOSE. Remember the 5-0 at SJP under Dave Jones ? That was my fault. I half expected it for Palace. If we got away with it there, and Newc wore their B&W at ours. Maybe the conditions look worse under floodlights. For the Derby Play Off Semi I had to pay £400 to win one of the Auctioned 3rd kits cos I knew we would wear it in the 2nd Leg. My only other option is to stand outside the ground and pester the kit man to 'loan' me one. And I also have to re-print my little fixture PDF (for something like the 10th time) cos it has a little picture of the right kit next to each game.
Stoozer Posted 17 January, 2015 Posted 17 January, 2015 I must say that I prefer this third strip to the away one. Much prefer us in Yellow playing away.
Badger Posted 17 January, 2015 Posted 17 January, 2015 Looks more like puce Lemon than Saints yellow. c'mon you puce lemons... certainly has a ring to it.

Sounds like they might accommodate you if you make it known officially.
