andoru Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 If we're going to make Europe, clearly we have to surpass our best ever points total in the Premier League. We need 17 more points to equal it. Looking at our schedule, when you do predict that is most likely to happen? Here's the fixture list for the rest of the season: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/teams/southampton/fixtures
MarkSFC Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 when do we get to 70 is more pertinent.
Saint_Tony Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 I would say it quite possibly can, and probably needs to happen by the end of the Burnley game. So 17 points from the next 9 games, leaving 8 more in which 14/15 might be enough. I would say we have a reasonably favourable set of fixtures left compared to our rivals. Draws at Newcastle, home to West Ham and away at QPR and wins against Palace, Burnley, West Brom and Swansea would give us 15 points. That leaves 2 games against Chelsea and Liverpool which we are capable of getting points from. So there's little margin for error, we might get away with losing 2. With our defence though, we are capable of picking up points in every game, and that is key.

positivepete Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 From the fixtures we have left we only got 19 points from these corresponding games last year. I would think that we will exceed that this season, we could even get 30 points from these games
The9 Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 I'm expecting us to win all the home matches against the bottom half, 75% of the aways against the bottom half, and 50% of the games against the top half. That would be... ...about 34 more points on top of our 39 so far. 73 points then.
Leicestersaint Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 I predict a further 33 points taking us to 72 points. How will that do?!
Leicestersaint Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 And we should finish with a goal difference of around plus 35!
Redslo Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 I predict a further 33 points taking us to 72 points. How will that do?! That's certainly the straight line extrapolation. So I predict that too.
