eelpie Posted 14 January, 2015 Share Posted 14 January, 2015 slight over reaction. thankfully, our next few games are slightly easier than man u/arsenal and chelsea. we can still deffo achieve both. plus, when i see it and hear it is when i'll start believing everything. yes, but we've often fallen short against weaker teams
nta786 Posted 14 January, 2015 Share Posted 14 January, 2015 yes, but we've often fallen short against weaker teams not really this season... burnley and sheffield united was a confidence factor, we were on three straight defeats, and aston villa the only other result creeping into my mind, but villa park is still a tough ground for anyone, manchester united also drew there. otherwise, we've won games where we have been favourites on paper. NickG Posted 14 January, 2015 Share Posted 14 January, 2015 Sure it was a hammy, done it myself before and you just know. You get a 'ping' and you feel like your leg is being stabbed in the back. To me it looked like a nailed on strain/tear of the hammy. Gut feeling is that it isn't too bad. If we a bad injury, eg torn hamstring don't think he would spend 2nd half looking relaxed sitting outside on the bench. Think the physios would be looking at some Rest/Ice/Compression/ Elevation at the very least!

That's what I'd have thought, but he was sat on the bench for most of the 2nd half and strolled off at the end looking fairly comfortable, but then Koeman has said 4-5 weeks? SaintTex Posted 14 January, 2015 Share Posted 14 January, 2015 I find it difficult to understand how Koeman or anyone else can say with certainty that he is out 4 to 5 weeks. The medical staff got him accessed and diagnosed, developed a treatment plan and then determined a treatment length all in roughly an hour? CB Fry Posted 14 January, 2015 Share Posted 14 January, 2015 ****ing knew we should have played the kids and gone out of this sodding waste of time. Every FA cup game from now until the end of the season is our least important match of the season as long as we have a chance of the CL Give over. Keep on going for it in the cup, Ronald. I reckon he will, too.

Junior Mullet Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 Clyne gardos fonte Bertrand Cork Davis Tadic jwp Elia Pelle That's good enough to beat Newcastle. They'll come out of the blocks quickly but if we can withstand the early barrage we will win

Lorne Malvo Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 Many premiership players had their career finished through a hamstring? Can think of Michael Owen for one.

thefuriousb Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 Can think of Michael Owen for one. Whilst he was plagued with hamstring injuries in the latter part of his career, the medical experts believe this to have been down to the number of matches he (and others) play at an early age. In Owen's case he was starting for Liverpool and England at 17! His example is the major reason Shaw missed games in his first season. The fear is that playing at such a high level places too much (and long term) strain on muscles at a stage when the body is still developing & strengthening. I seem to recall that c80% of players who make 100 EPL appearances/starts before 21 end up with hamstring injuries which become a recurring feature of their future career. The high profile exception was Giggs, but he was told by Fergie to take up yoga as aprt of his fitness programme and sell his fancy Ferrari, whch basically had him sat on the floor. Bucks Saint Posted 15 January, 2015 Share Posted 15 January, 2015 My biggest concern is where the goals will come from in the next few weeks Why? We scored in each of the last 7 games including 3 v Palace and 3 v Everton. The other games have been against Ipswich (changed teams, crap conditions etc) and those pesky little sides called Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal, but we still scored in all of them. EE has come in to cover Mane, and all the other front players are fit.
