Colinjb Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 A magnificant validation of of the revelutionary footballing set up as Saints outperformed arguably the best footballing side in the division and where unlucky to only get a point. Jan Portvliet was stated as saying ..... blah de blah do bloody blah
1976_Child Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 .."Rupert Lowe's hatrick in the last two minutes won the European Cup for Southampton.." Knowing his ego..
badgerx16 Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 Any ideas.................? We were unlucky; we created all the chances; the ref got it wrong; shows the boys are learning and developing; we can build on this and start climbing the league; vindicates the strategy of using the academy players; Jan got the tactics spot on; points are the target in January;.......
Mr X Posted 28 December, 2008 Author Posted 28 December, 2008 .."Rupert Lowe's hatrick in the last two minutes won the European Cup for Southampton.." Knowing his ego.. I don't know wether to laugh or cry
Mr Saints Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 67: Saints boss Jan Poortvliet is asked to clam down on the touchline by the 4th official after urging his side on a little too vigorously! They started during the second half when it was nil nil! Before we get on his back for producing a couple of the worst performances in recent weeks I have ever seen this club produce........... lay off him and remember, he's passionate.
sun of spain Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 More rubbish from "The Ministry Of Positives From Negatives",under our great leader Lord Lowe. The OS could turn a catastrophe, into the most positive event of the year.
egreog Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 they will wheel out some drivel about it being a base to turn things around......the new year being a fresh start .........when we all know whichever lackey says it, that in reality it will be just more weak lame pointless football under the present administration
lordswoodsaints Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 i dont ever read it but does that display really need any spin.credit where credit is due, nobody had a bad game today.
Weston Super Saint Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 i dont ever read it but does that display really need any spin.credit where credit is due, nobody had a bad game today. And yet we still can't win at home. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the season when doubtless at least one or two will have a bad game
Leicestersaint Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 It sounds as though we should definitely have had a penalty. However, our home record is awful. Things can only get better - can't they?
St Paul Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 "Leon Crouch was at fault as Reading pinched a late equaliser".........
team-saint Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 there is no need to put any spin on this game, altough we were unlucky not to win there are many positives to take from the game and a point is a decent result if you weren't at the game please don't presume we played badly today jan actually did get the tactics right. he actually did make the right substitutions. the players actually did show fight and passion. most of them did actually play very well. best of all though, mcgoldrick did actually turn a corner

Chez Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 I know they played better was refering to not being able to keep a lead **** off with your moaning. We outplayed the second best side in the league. There is no need for spin.
alpine_saint Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 **** off with your moaning. We outplayed the second best side in the league. And still failed to win at home.
krissyboy31 Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 **** off with your moaning. We outplayed the second best side in the league. There is no need for spin. Trouble is, last home game we were outplayed by the worse team in the league and according to JP and the OS, unlucky.
Chez Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 Trouble is, last home game we were outplayed by the worse team in the league and according to JP and the OS, unlucky. really? I didn't read that, that is not spin that is just lies.
krissyboy31 Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 really? I didn't read that, that is not spin that is just lies. Not at all! JP, thought we were the better team and deserved something out of the game!! Sounded exactly like Burley last season.
Chez Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 And still failed to win at home. What did you think about the performance?
Chez Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 Not at all! JP, thought we were the better team and deserved something out of the game!! Sounded exactly like Burley last season. madness Forrest took us to pieces. However that was not the case today. A great display IMO. If we could play like that every week we'd have a very good chance of surviving.
alpine_saint Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 What did you think about the performance? Not. Fukking. Interested. Whether I have witnessed it or not is irrelevant. This is our worst home record since joining the League.
swannymere Posted 28 December, 2008 Posted 28 December, 2008 The boys played well, Gillett was playing like a rabid terrier, McGoldrick finally seemed to realise he needs to work harder, Cork was Outstanding, Holmes was creative and hardworking, nobody let the team down. The result was'nt what we wanted but that's why it's a sport.
