Plastic Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 (edited) His dad will be pleased.. Well done corky. Mild pressure from Koeman http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30749269 Edited 11 January, 2015 by Plastic
MongoNeil Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 I bet he's gutted they went for that picture on the BBC site!
DuncanRG Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Good to hear - I've missed watching him over the last few games though we haven't been any the weaker.
Goatboy Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 What are the odds on his Dad taking to Twitter to moan about the terms?
altoniansaints Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Good to hear but will he sign is the question?
CB Fry Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 And the last of the grizzling whiners complaints about how terribly run our club is finally crumbles into the dust. What a mess we're in.
Patrick Bateman Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 "Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says the club have offered midfielder Jack Cork are new contract." ARE new contract? FFS!
Batman Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Great news. Hopefully he signs Along with clyne and Rodriguez
Saxon Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Great news. Hopefully he signs Along with clyne and Rodriguez Maybe if we beat Utd today, Clyne and JayRod will be a lot closer to signing, considering the position that would put us in.
Ewell Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Koeman stated this in his press conference on Friday, it's welcome but pretty old news!
niceandfriendly Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 And the last of the grizzling whiners complaints about how terribly run our club is finally crumbles into the dust. What a mess we're in. You're arguing with yourself man. Who the f**k says says this stuff you and Turkish claim they do?
buctootim Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 He's a backup / squad player for us. Im happy if he stays but not bothered if he chooses to go.
The Cat Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Good news. He'll be starting every game in midfield next season alongside Harry Reed when Wanyama and Schneiderlin leave.
The Cat Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Sorry, I forgot to log in as Saint Charlie before making that last post.
Wiggles31 Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Great news. A great squad rotation player. How old is Cork these days? 26?
Tamesaint Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 You're arguing with yourself man. Who the f**k says says this stuff you and Turkish claim they do? Don't worry about him mate. He has some kind of personality disorder. Just inore him. Most people do.
Ludwig Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Is there something in the language of that statement that sounds strange? "He can stay." It almost sounds like we are doing him a favour. Not that we desperately want him to stay.
Batman Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Is there something in the language of that statement that sounds strange? "He can stay." It almost sounds like we are doing him a favour. Not that we desperately want him to stay. We? This isn't the Watford forum
Crab Lungs Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Offered a while ago just applying a bit of pressure by going public
Saint Charlie Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Sorry, I forgot to log in as Saint Charlie before making that last post. LOL. I won't believe this offer until Krueger tells TalkSport.
Saint Charlie Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Offered a while ago just applying a bit of pressure by going public You could certainly understand why Cork may wish to wait until the summer and see what his options as a free agent are.
Grigsy Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Being offered a contract doesn't mean the player will always sign it. Jay Rod (months ago), Clyne and Toby have all been made offers in semi recent times. If he is available on a free in 6 months then he may want to see whats available to him. If I were him, I would be a little peeved that after 4 years of good performances and total professionalism that I hadnt been offered something earlier, especially when Davis was and he had a couple of years left on his.

The most important thing for him will be the actual terms offered on the contract I should imagine. No hands have been bitten off yet by all accounts.
Charlie Wayman Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 This is not news, Ronald Koeman gave this answer in response to a question at the pre-Manure press conference, it's taken the BBC two days to catch up!

Yep, boot on the other foot now though as Cork can choose from a list of clubs in June who willbe more than happy to get a proven premier league player for free. Reed may regret turning down the £6 million from CP on the last day of the last transfer window. Mind you at that time the club was in absolute turmoil....... Or so we all thought.
Turkish Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Offered a while ago just applying a bit of pressure by going public So you've still got sources behind the scenes then. Why haven't they updated you on the mess we're in?
Batman Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 The ones who have signed just signed without it being made public until they signed Is how I remember it. Probably wrong though
the saint in winchester Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 We made him wait long enough before we offered him a contract, so we can't complain if he makes us wait before signing it. Hopefully he does. But maybe the delay has made him wonder how much we want him.
Baird of the land Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 Hopefully its a decent enough offer that he'll accept.
Greenridge Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 I see on SkySports in the Paper Talk section The Sun are claiming Jack is set to leave after turning down the contract offer.
hypochondriac Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 I see on SkySports in the Paper Talk section The Sun are claiming Jack is set to leave after turning down the contract offer. Would like to see some of our players signed up. Has anyone other than Targett signed a new deal since Cortese left? Would prefer not to see another mass exodus in the summer.

shirleysfc Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 I see on SkySports in the Paper Talk section The Sun are claiming Jack is set to leave after turning down the contract offer. Not surprised. He's clearly some way down the pecking order when everyone's fit.
hypochondriac Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Fonte? Oh yes. It's the big ones I'm worried about like Morgan, vic, Clyne, Toby, Bertrand etc.
Roger Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Oh yes. It's the big ones I'm worried about like Morgan, vic, Clyne, Toby, Bertrand etc. Fonte signed new deal in summer.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Not surprised. He's clearly some way down the pecking order when everyone's fit. It does seem a bit of a token offer. If you really valued someone as a key plauer you don't wait until they only have a few months left before offering one. Couldn't blame him for wanting to go somewhere he would start every week and possibly get a pay rise. Hopefully he will stay though.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Oh yes. It's the big ones I'm worried about like Morgan, vic, Clyne, Toby, Bertrand etc. Think Bertrand will sign, but agree, it would be a big lift if a player wanted elsewhere was persuaded to sign here. We have extended Yoshida and Steve Davis as well as Fonte and whilst they are good (Davis excellent tbf) players for us, they aren't the star names.
farawaysaint Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Oh yes. It's the big ones I'm worried about like Morgan, vic, Clyne, Toby, Bertrand etc. Not sure these guys can sign a new contract otherwise we need to count Pelle, Tadic, Mane etc But I take your point
Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 I'd be gutted if jack cork left. Surely he'll stay if we finish in the top 4?
trousers Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 He (briefly) mentions his contract situation in this interview: [video=youtube_share;DgLcqcPLokY]
Saint_Ash Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Decent squad player, if he signs, great, if not then he can be easily replaced imo.
hypochondriac Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 Not sure these guys can sign a new contract otherwise we need to count Pelle, Tadic, Mane etc But I take your point Could still easily lose them in the summer.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 A couple of papers are reporting that he's rejected the new deal and could possibly leave this month. :-/
sadoldgit Posted 13 January, 2015 Posted 13 January, 2015 You could certainly understand why Cork may wish to wait until the summer and see what his options as a free agent are. If he would rather play for the likes of Crystal Palace good luck to him.
