Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Share Posted 9 January, 2015 I dont have much time for the BBC but they have reached a new low with the following The BBC has submitted its controversial live coverage of a police raid on Sir Cliff Richard's Berkshire home for a major journalism award. The reports have been entered for "scoop of the year" at the Royal Television Society Awards, despite the threat of legal action from the singer. pap Posted 9 January, 2015 Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Yes, the BBC could have gone lower. They could have spent licence payers' cash flying a team out to extradition-free Barbados to door-step Cliff at his residence there. They did not do that. Be thankful. View From The Top Posted 9 January, 2015 Share Posted 9 January, 2015 I'm sure Kitty has nothing to hide at all regarding the Elm Guesthouse amongst other places and will willingly fly back from Barbados to answer police questions when he is asked to. Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 (edited) How can it be a scoop when they colluded with the police spending all that licence payers money hiring a helicopter etc. Also how could it be a scoop when it was all pre planned well in advance of the police raid I hope the BBC are sued lets not forget what some of their ex employees got up to when working for the beeb. View From The Top Posted 9 January, 2015 Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Ah, so it was the beebs fault they were kiddy fiddlers just in the same way it's Islam's fault that some nutters went shooting in Paris. Glad we cleared that up.

Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 View This is not about islams fault ( you should go to the other thread) where have I mentioned islam ? There was allegedely enough information about saville many years before it became public, which they could have done something about . they didnt . Im not saying the Beeb are at fault re employing them but to submit their Scoop for the scoop of the year award is in totally bad taste , given the individaul has not been charged. so are all the journos who took part going along to the awards on licence payers money ? Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Fair point pap but it wasn't exclusive the were in cahoots with Yorkshire police . Hence the reason they were able to hire the helicopter etc . You are obviously a support of the BBC . Do they still have there reporter outside the royal free waiting on news on the Ebola nurse . No they flown her to Paris

Cahoots are part of the landscape. I'm not a supporter of the BBC at the mo. I don't think it helps.
Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Bucks . I don't . But surely the BBC should have done an investigation when it first surfaced same with the accusations against Winifred bramnel (step toe) . On a different BBC aspect . They have been going on about the weather up here . The winds were bad but nowhere as bad as last week and certainly not the worst . But still the been persist with inaccurate information , The other week we were told to expect a hurricane bomb . This one and tomorrow's one is being called a severe storm surge . What bollixs it just gale force winds

Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Smirking . One point I am trying to make is the BBC should report the news not create it . On the text service they keep referring to the claims of underage sex by Epstein and the lawyer as the the prince Andrew sex case. . He might be implicated but the lawyer who is on the verge of sueing is nothing directly to do with Andrew . They are different allegations by the same individuals . Why can't they say that x is suing y instead if saing it's the Andrew sex case

Everyone knows prince andrew, most news services will use the obvious name to report. This is basically you getting into a huff over the BBC isnt it ? Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Bucks . The problem is the BBC were sensationalising the weather story. For what purposes I don't know . This time of year we get hit by a lot of gales it's nothing new. Last weekend was worse . And sadly 8 people lost their life's when a cargo ship went down . Just off the coast of Orkney . In the pentland skerries . The BBC and other news outlets refer to the sailors as 7 poles and a Filipino . Not once have I seen their names mentioned . Of they had been British there would have been a different angle on the tradegy . I expect a certain individual will give me grief about my post . It's my view and I am entitled to it

And while its a sad loss that 8 people died in that incident, are you really singling out the BBC for not listing their names? Almost every UK media outlet makes a point of highlighting UK casualties in any disaster, and not really giving much more than minimal air or print time to the (sometimes) many greater numbers of foreigners killed or injured. I appreciate its your opinion but in mine, none of this is unique to the BBC
Viking Warrior Posted 9 January, 2015 Author Share Posted 9 January, 2015 Bucks I agree again the uk media focus in British casualties . But up here those dead sailors etc had families and the coast guards and RNLI up here spent many hours searching for the missing sailors . Look at the French news all British media outlets are focussing on what's happening in France . Why do all the news reporters send all their top stars out there to report . Thank god Kate Adie gas retired

Just the BBC who take their info from the Met Office like all the others? As for the ship story, but sorry, what is your 'kin point? That the BBC didn't individually name each and everyone? Why should they? What would it prove or achieve? A ship went down, sailors were lost, it's sad but the story is really in their homeland, not ours. Along with media from every other major country. Huge concern of similar attacks in other western countries, including us. BBC does not give huge focus on an unfortunate accident for a boat with non UK sailors, which sadly happens regularly around the world, along with thousands of other types of fatal accident and thus is not very newsworthy. Lord Duckhunter Posted 9 January, 2015 Share Posted 9 January, 2015 There's a hell of a lot wrong with the BBC , starting with the TV poll tax that funds it and the locking up of people who refuse to pay . However , getting the weather wrong or sending reporters to report on terrorist atrocities in Paris is not amongst them .The Cliff Richard thing annoyed me because of the pious attitude the BBC would have taken had "The Sun " or "The Daily Mail" colluded with the police, but being consistent has never been high on the bbc 's agenda .
