Hoping for easiest home draw, as per usual. This is all providing we do progress into the next round... The draw may impact Koeman's team in the replay.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 another winnable game.....we should have done Ipswich yesterday!!!
nta786 Posted 5 January, 2015 Author Posted 5 January, 2015 Wow. First ball out of the draw lol. Winnable tie, hoping Koeman does take replay seriously now! No doubt he will though.!
Batman Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 cambridge v united bound to be on telly brighton v arsenal also too
Sour Mash Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Tough enough fixture, but ultimately winnable. Be nice to get a new/different ground once in a while!
supersonic Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Winnable tie, SHOULD we get past Ipswich (which I think we will). A few decent cup ties there and a few upsets could happen (AFC Bournemouth)
lickierambert Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 None of the top teams have got difficult ties. Again
Appy Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Ipswich will fancy doing us and Palace at home Funny that, I quite fancy us to beat them both.
nta786 Posted 5 January, 2015 Author Posted 5 January, 2015 Southampton or Ipswich v Crystal Palace Manchester City v Middlesbrough Doncaster or Bristol City v Everton or West Ham Sunderland v Fulham or Wolves Rochdale v Stoke City Brighton & Hove Albion v Arsenal Burnley or Tottenham v Leicester City AFC Wimbledon or Liverpool v Bolton Wanderers Cardiff City v Reading Aston Villa v Bournemouth Birmingham City v West Bromwich Albion Preston North End v Sheffield United Derby County v S****horpe or Chesterfield Chelsea v Millwall or Bradford Blackburn Rovers v Swansea City Cambridge United v Manchester United
simo Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Funny that, I quite fancy us to beat them both. Oh don't get me wrong my first thought was "that us thru then" I think if anything it points to palace being seen as an easy tie (which with pardew now in charge they maybe a different kettle of fish} !
Dark Munster Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 If all the top seeds win there would only be 3 non-PL teams left in the 5th round.
The Cat Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Chelsea vs Millwall would be more fun outside the ground than in it.
stevegrant Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Fair to say that the draw's not opening up for a mid-table side this season like it did last year... if every tie went with the highest-placed team going through, there would be 13 PL teams left in out of 16, with two from the Championship and one from League One. Looking much tougher than last season already.
nta786 Posted 5 January, 2015 Author Posted 5 January, 2015 The winner of the FA Cup will earn automatic qualification to the 2015–16 UEFA Europa League group stages. If, however, the winner of the Cup is already qualified for the Champions League or Europa League (through position in domestic league), then the highest placed team in the 2014–15 Premier League not already Europe-qualified will claim this Europa League place. In a change to Europa League rules, qualifying slots for national cup winners no longer pass to the runners-up if the winners have already qualified through their league. Good chance now that 6th and even 7th place is enough for Europa League football, as I expect Chelsea to win the League cup, and a top 5 team to win the FA Cup based on the draw.

So if we win the FA Cup and finish 4th in the league, we could help Spurs or Liverpool qualify for Europe. That would be nice of us.
LGTL Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Boring. Is it too much to ask to get a decent away tie for once?
Patrick Bateman Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Boring FA Cup all round so far this year, shame.
Batman Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 gerrard scores again. did you KNOW that it is his birthday on cup final day
Charlie Wayman Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 I imagine that Palace regard this tie with even less enthusiasm than Saints, they don't need the distraction of the Cup anymore than we. Maybe Ipswich will put us out of our misery, if not lets put out the kids for this one. For sure Palace will.
stevegrant Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 gerrard scores again. did you KNOW that it is his birthday on cup final day It would be great if someone could buy him a ticket for the game.
scotty Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Pretty boring draw all round. Chelsea Millwall would be tasty. I'd watch that.
RonManager Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Home to Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace ooooh look at me 1st again. Hope you enjoyed your celebratory ****, you self-satisfied, smug ****. ...and if you think my reply is about you being 1st to reply, you're an even bigger ****.

Bucks Saint Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Boring. Is it too much to ask to get a decent away tie for once? Every league cup round not enough for you?

Kingsbridge Saint Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 Can't look past Ipswich at the moment really. We have had our warning with the defeat at Sheff Utd. Another day like that and we can kiss goodbye to a trophy for another season. European qualification would be quite some consolation prize to go for though!
Ludwig Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 ooooh look at me 1st again. Hope you enjoyed your celebratory ****, you self-satisfied, smug ****. ...and if you think my reply is about you being 1st to reply, you're an even bigger ****. Early contender for post of the year? Well said, Ron!

Saintsweb could do with more observant people like your good self. Most people couldn't give a toss and that's no foundation for a successful and thriving internet football forum. P.s. ask me to "do groundhog day" next time Edited 6 January, 2015 by trousers

To be honest, I never notice who it is, but there again, I'm not obsessive.
Dr Who? Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 Chelsea vs Millwall would be more fun outside the ground than in it. In the 70's and 80's.
Ulrich van Gobbel Posted 7 January, 2015 Posted 7 January, 2015 The replay vs Ipswich Town will be shown live on BBC. http://mobile.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150107-ipswich-town-fa-cup-replay-bbc-2187386.aspx
