Just caught the last 5 mins of MOTD Extra, just as they turned to a quick discussion about our game. Cue 5 minutes of how Van Gaal is doing, their array of attacking talent, how they may miss Young today and their injury record. Oh, and how Utd should have lost at SMS. Not a single word about us at all. Frankly it was amazing that they even mentioned we are the opposition for Utd today.

Aye will definitely be this unless we go back to the 3-5-2 now Clyne's back.

I think Yoshida is better in the 3 than Gardos and Elia will be played left wing so expecting the back 4 but nice to have options.

Have I missed something? Has Koeman said Elia is starting? Seems like a bold, but welcome, move if so.

He hasn't said. Just that he will be involved. Im guessing he may well start because without Mane we don't have another wide player.

He's been interviewed for. A bunch of different tv programs - would seem like that's the preface to a first start...

Hope Luke Shaw gets a good reception and he doesn't get booed. Let's save the vitriol for when Liverpool come to town next month ;)

He doesn't deserve a good or bad reception. Hopefully our fans just ignore him.

Slightly suprised Tadic left out but he is miles better at home than away.

Better sub options than most we have had this season.

Assuming JWP is on the right, lets hope Shaw doesnt venture forward much because JWP's defending is lightweight.

Their team is strong and well balanced but Falcao not even on bench.

That is a very decent team and strong bench too. COYS!

Getting more and more confident for this.

Am working so will be turning my phone off at 4pm and watching the game from recorded at 8pm tonight.

Entertaining 2-2 draw for me.

That said they have very strong attacking options but am still not convinced by Jones and Smalling as CBs and Valencia as RB.

Can we get our fist win at OT since the 80's (in the league)? I don't think so 3-1 to the Mancs.

Would love it, but I just cannot see it!

Our team would easily take theirs in a fight, which is what I'll console myself with if we lose.

No Tadic? JWP 59 PL starts as an advanced mid- zero goals.

Four assists in his last 4 games though. Tadic has been off the boil for a few games, needs to earn his place back.

i think rooney and van persie will destroy our defence today

first humping of the season

How many other teams have they done it too though? We have one of the best defences in the league, only Man City have really torn us apart. I expect to lose, but only by the odd goal

He certainly has something to prove as an attacking force from open play.

According to Shurlock's memory, x2 assists from dead ball x3 from open play. So maybe doing better than you recollect?

Koemon, it seems.

Maybe, but overall from open play I don't see great attacking instincts.

Excellent player, but not someone who worries an opponent IMO from an attacking perspective.

If he gets assists, it doesn't matter if the opposition was worried or not!

I know what you're getting at, but I think he was of these less flash players who increasingly plays an important role for winning....

JWP has been pretty much first choice when fit for while. Seems to be seen well ahead of Cork and on par with Tadic. Excellent reliable team player.

Dietmar Hamann on Elia:

@henrywinter @JWTelegraph Not sure what they saw in him. Would be very surprised if he makes an impact.

Hopefully we get his form from Holland not Germany.

Hamann wrote off Yaya Toure remember
