Shroppie Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 On sale already and only a tenner, or a fiver for an old codger like me. Don't think we'll have many there, what with three aways in the week, so making the effort. Cheap B&B and ludicrously cheap train (£20 return from Shropshire)booked. New ground for me. Anyone else?
The Cat Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Probably not. While the cheap tickets are tempting I'll be spending all my spare cash this month on a weekend in Newcastle.
Saint Garrett Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Decided to drive up, half day at work, and to tick off a new ground.
Dan Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Sensible pricing which was good to see. Il be driving down from Sheffield on me tod, got work on Thursday at half 7 which isn't ideal but hey ho. Doing Man Utd and then a weekend in Newcastle, so a busy week of football! Gets me out the house at least.

Plonko Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 It's a bit of a treck but I'll be making my way down from Lowestoft...
ben05 Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Going to be in Norwich for work that week so ideal for me. Another new ground to be ticked off
Bucks Saint Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 Just looked at train prices - already at £45 return from Liverpool Street (plus what it costs to get to there) and that includes knowing for sure which train back. So that seals it for me, not going sadly

So that seals it for me, not going sadly I've just had a look myself. With the possibility of extra time and penalties you can't guarantee a return time so this insistence on travelling on a particular service is totally idiocy, especially at that time of night.

And about £30 if you use your Network Card for a return to Manningtree, then a separate reurn from there to Ipswich, but I think you can only use your Network Card on off-peak services, so depends how limited you are in that regard, but there is plenty of scope for cheap services, especially considering how cheap the match tickets are.

I was looking with a Senior Railcard and it was over £30 one-way from Liverpool Street on a flexible ticket.

Shroppie Posted 5 January, 2015 Author Posted 5 January, 2015 Hoping to go if the tickets reach general sale. They will, easily.

Whitey Grandad Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 you watch us go into extra time And penalties.
dronskisaint Posted 5 January, 2015 Posted 5 January, 2015 It's a bit of a treck but I'll be making my way down from Lowestoft... Ditto - tried to buy at the ticket office this morning but not on general sale until tomorrow...!

Shroppie Posted 6 January, 2015 Author Posted 6 January, 2015 Think we'll be lucky to have 500 there. Bad timing just after Christmas and between two other away games
Bucks Saint Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 I am driving up and back from Ascot if that helps. Thanks. I had decided to give it a miss but might now be tempted again! What time are you setting off? I am in Maidenhead
nta786 Posted 6 January, 2015 Posted 6 January, 2015 Not far for a Dalek to go. Dalek! Your positivity about cup football will no doubt spur them on! So, you should definitely go!
Shroppie Posted 6 January, 2015 Author Posted 6 January, 2015 What's our allocation? Has to be 15% if we want it, which is 4500. We won't take anything like that. I'd guess 1500 max.
dronskisaint Posted 7 January, 2015 Posted 7 January, 2015 To save you another wasted journey, general sale starts Weds, not tomorrow. Cheers - the frustration continues however with the automated message on the ticket line cutting out just as it says ...'and for Ipswich away' zilch! email is a 404 message - is there another number beyond the one on the page - I had a feeling there used to be? Thanks for your help...anyone?

richie Posted 11 January, 2015 Posted 11 January, 2015 I assume tickets will be on sale on the night? I will be going from Milton Keynes (on my own) if anyone wants a lift.
