once_bitterne Posted 6 July, 2017 Share Posted 6 July, 2017 As others have said, I hope playing regularly for a manager that lets him play his game should do wonders for Harry. I too have seen his potential and would be disappointed if he doesn't get a chance to be a first team regular at Saints for a manager who gives him a free reign to fully show his capabilities and one who won't drop him after he has played well. He put in some great performances under Pochettino who showed faith in him when Morgan was unavailable. He also put in some great performances under Koeman who then promptly dropped him. Everton at home where he was largely responsible for closing down their midfield making tackle after tackle and not giving up when others would, is a game that particularly stands out. Let's hope he has a great season at Norwich and then gets a good chance back at Saints the following season. Not sure that's correct re: Pochettino. In his time here Reed just started the one game and came on as a very late sub in a few others.
Heisenberg Posted 6 July, 2017 Share Posted 6 July, 2017 how many Chelsea youth players actually get to regularly play in their first team after a loan? The Chelsea model is outstanding and very successful Buy cheap > loan out > sell high. They dont need to play for the first team.

derry Posted 6 July, 2017 Share Posted 6 July, 2017 (edited) The Libero became outdated when it was rumbled, some Italian managers then moved the libero (sweeper) in front of the defenders to allow them to be more playmaker and defender such as Desailly at AC Milan, hence the front sweeper which has now evolved into the defensive midfielder or even two. The popular formations being used today have mostly been around for half a century or more. Ramsey played 4-1-3-2 in the 1966 world cup as stated by Nobby Stiles in his book rather than the 4-3-3 popularly attributed. Stiles did however man mark Onega against Argentina and Eusebio against Portugal with Ball Charlton and Peters in midfield behind Hurst and Hunt. From Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathan Wilson. doddisalegend Posted 5 August, 2017 Share Posted 5 August, 2017 See Harrison got a full 80 minutes of championship football today against Fulham a good start to his loan http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40760773
washsaint Posted 5 August, 2017 Author Share Posted 5 August, 2017 He was very good for Norwich today. Tidy, pressing and his passing was a class above the rest of the Norwich team (quick to make the pass especially when under pressure). Fulham are a joy to watch - young, fast and very attacking. Lord Duckhunter Posted 17 August, 2017 Share Posted 17 August, 2017 Makes you wonder why we've been ****kng about with him the past 2 years. Should have gone out on loan both seasons. Players at his age need first team games, whose to say that with 2 years and 60 championship games under his belt, he couldn't have played a decent part in our first team this season? trousers Posted 17 August, 2017 Share Posted 17 August, 2017 (edited) Makes you wonder why we've been ****kng about with him the past 2 years. Should have gone out on loan both seasons. IIRC, someone posted on here a while back that the club did look to loan him out a couple of years ago but Reed was keen to stay to try and break into the first team. Agree that the club should have probably tried harder to convince him otherwise if that's true. Edited 17 August, 2017 by trousers

Lets B Avenue Posted 17 January, 2018 Share Posted 17 January, 2018 This is as bad as the Replay we had at home to Norwich a year ago. Dangermouth Posted 17 January, 2018 Share Posted 17 January, 2018 Hmm lots of safe square balls, unnecessary second touch of the ball and passes back to the keeper - wonder where he learnt that. He's done far too much of that in his career so far from what I've seen: needs to be more attack minded but his current manager is another one who likes 'possession'.
