What is wrong with America

Red Alert

Probably the fact that they are not displaying any weapons is a bit of a give away.Never heard of concealed weapons eh? despite what you think it is illegal to go around with open weapons As for your constant put downs of Brits. You are a Brit are you not? like I told you before was born there but........ all I hear is what I consider to be a complete lack of understanding what really goes on reinforced by a delusional belief that the brits know it all

Just for you I'm going to type this really slowly.

Thread initiated as man shot in back 8 time trying to run from police, something that you appear to support.

Your latest video - man running / walking menacingly towards police officer who has gun drawn, man arrested without a shot being fired.

Think hard.

Thinking hard about why the guy would run and not stop when told to stop..............if you can answer that just let me know ........I will pass your brit expertize to the MD district attorney.

Sorry Lou me walking away from this thread will never happen...........

Why would you when you defeat all-comers with your rational well thought out debate. I see many have tried to take you on and gone away defeated. 'Defeated' may be the wrong word of course.

We get it. Stay in your car for fear of death, or expect what's coming to you (being shot 8 times in the back until you are dead). There would be no fear of death if you stay in your car. Stay in your fu cking car.

Over the la-a-a-and of the free and the ho-o-o-o-ome of. thuuuuuh. braaaaave.

If you have proof of that send it to the OK district attorney..........however you don't so just STFU

Isn't that exactly what the video shows ?

Also, why do you get so riled and aggressive ? You're not even in the States, you're on the civilised side of the border.

So the argument goes that we could all be concealing weapons therefore are fair game to be shot? If there were greater gun controls we wouldn't have weapons to conceal and therefore the police wouldn't have to shoot us. N'est par?

I don't think "us" Brits think we know it all. What we do have is a common sense attitude to guns and do not like the idea of arming the population. We also do not like the idea of the police shooting people just because they are a) running away b) get out of their car and c) may or may not be packing heat.

It is interesting to me that the terms "collateral damage" and "friendly fire" came from the USA. The land of the free, oxymorons and cop out phrases.

Well, the American way of life is keeping them happier than in the UK anyway, although not nearly as chipper as they are in Canada and not as happy as in Mexico either. The British are also more gloomy than their nearest neighbours Ireland, while over here in Scandinavia we are just in a constant state of ecstasy, grinning like fools.

I like this What Is Wrong With Sarnia thread cos it is entertaining to read, but I dunno that you bros is getting any nearer to the truth tho really.

We can't handle the truth.

Well we could, but we would have to sanitise afterwards like when finger goes through cheap loo roll.

You can sort of gauge the intellect level when people fail to comprehend even the simplest of advice, cant you?

I'm in the US at the moment. Had a chat with an anti-gun nipper. He had his reasons, notably having a gun pulled on him twice for trivial drunken sh!t.

So what would be the right word??.........get out the dictionary and let me know............real spelling OK :)

Fair game?? there you go again with some generalization that you got from watching the TV...

OK if you trust the traffic laws enforcers to protect you that's your choice......

Your hate for the USA really shows in the last bit

This post is just a collection of phrases making no discernable point.

Anyway, you've said several times our poor running away friend deserved/should expect to be shot, and if he had stayed in the car he would have no fear of death (it's just getting out of the car he gets fear of death, obviously).

It's all on this thread and is the dribbling of an idiot. Well done.

One thing that's easy to forget if you're not here is just how much poverty there is. I'm up at the arse end of town, which is basically six-lane Americana bisecting a ton of chain stores. Even here, which the locals know is miles away from anywhere, has people on the intersections begging for cash. The collective indifference to their plight is staggering, but easy to understand. When I first got here, I really felt for them. Still do, but internally you know that it's a problem you can't really fix. I used to give money to them back in the day, but it's getting to be incessant. I just say no now. I've become desensitised through repetition, and as soon as you're seen to be a soft touch, you just get swamped.

If a civilisation is judged on the standard of living that its worst off citizens endure, then the US really needs to look its poor and homeless in the eye, and start doing something for them. Accept that for some people, there's no helping them - but equally, there isn't a great deal of help for citizens that do want to get off their arses.

The local city I'm in at least tries. Bus transport to anywhere else in the city is $1, which means that the car-less can get to work if need be.

Even so, it's a chilling insight into what happens when there really is no safety net and we should think very carefully about the ideas we adopt from them.

I'm not really sure you're in a position to give advice.

Debate is about give and take. If your takeaway from my numerous posts on the subject is that I hate America, it's just another example of your lack of comprehension. I have been staunchly opposed to many of the actions of the US government. Hardly in a club of one on that front, and I can promise you that it has many American members.

Which makes me wonder. I've met plenty of US citizens that are capable of being deeply introspective about many of the problems we're discussing here. It's different, of course. Left and right "norms" aren't nearly as applicable, and I've met entirely decent people be worn down by the unending repetition of poverty in all its forms.

In fact, if you wanted to attack me on my content, you could easily have a go at lefty pap for not giving money to homeless people after years of being inured to it. I'm not proud of that, but then I'm here to work, not act as an independent source of welfare for everyone the system is failing.

What you've actually come back with is something I heard frequently from low-intelligence Sotonians in the 1990s when I said that Liverpool pubs were cool because they illegally stayed open until six o clock. "Why don't you f**k off back to Liverpool?". That's apt, because I suspect that's what you are. A low intelligence Sotonian. You must have married a Canadian to get in, because judging from your input on this thread, you'd be entirely fúcked in a points system.

You don't have any points.

You are exasperated.....why is that ???................

I'm not in the slightest. I just see people naively responding to you assuming you may post a sensible reply but all you can do is sling insults. And not to put too finer point on it but you are a bit dense.

You want to open up this thread to include Canada??

Are you following the threads of conversations, or randomly spewing out answers to individual posts ?

i said you were supposed to be on the 'civilised' side of the border, your reply to that was that there is 'no difference', hence my query about fatalities suffered whilst running away from traffic stops.

Canada has already been brought into the thread at several points, and it has even got as specific as discussing Sarnia itself, but perhaps you can't remember that far back.
