cobbysouth Posted 29 December, 2014 Share Posted 29 December, 2014 http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/12/29/southampton-new-boy-eljero-elia-compares-himself-to-sadio-mane/ Personally i like mane but he is inconsistent, better now in a more central role. Having another player like mane for the bench or maybe first time seems good to me.

Andy Durman Posted 30 December, 2014 Share Posted 30 December, 2014 We'll know how good Elia is come 8 Jan. If he's on the bench then he will not have overly impressed in training. I hope he starts
Batman Posted 30 December, 2014 Share Posted 30 December, 2014 if we see the best in him, he will be brilliant. played in a world cup final. signed by top sides. but has lost his way recently
tpbury Posted 30 December, 2014 Share Posted 30 December, 2014 He speaks well and seems very conscious of negative vibes he's had. He name checks Mane often, presumably after seeing he got put in his right position. Elia also mentions being played out of position. Elia seems to say he likes to play on the wing - did I understand that right?
Bad Wolf Posted 30 December, 2014 Share Posted 30 December, 2014 We'll know how good Elia is come 8 Jan. If he's on the bench then he will not have overly impressed in training. I hope he starts 8th? Can he not play against Ipswich then?

derry Posted 30 December, 2014 Share Posted 30 December, 2014 8th? Can he not play against Ipswich then? I wouldn't swear to it but I thought had to be signed by the previous Sat noon for the FA Cup, ie Sat 27th.
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 December, 2014 Share Posted 30 December, 2014 (edited) I wouldn't swear to it but I thought had to be signed by the previous Sat noon for the FA Cup, ie Sat 27th. I've just checked and it's 12 noon on the Friday before. http://www.thefa.com/~/media/files/pdf/fa-competitions-1415/the-fa-cup-rules-2014-2015.ashx?la=en Section 15 (i) (i) A “registered player” is one who is either, in the case of a player under written contract, registered with The Association or, in the case of a player without a written contract, registered with a League in which his Club competes in the current season. Any such registration must have been received and accepted by The Association or League by 12 noon on the Friday previous to the date fixed for playing the Round, and the registration must be continuous through to the date of the match.
