Interesting seeing behind the scenes, especially Mourinho greeting for Erwin,Ronald and Sammy Lee.

I remember the match 40 years ago that Martin Tyler was talking about Sheff Weds at home in the old Div 2. Weds scored after two minutes, and it remained 1-0. We were dreadful, fans were beginning to turn on Lawrie at that stage. The Sheff Weds rb that day was Peter Rodrigues.

This is probably a dumb question, but why do the players have to either show their studs or lift their shorts to the ref when their coming out of the changing room? It doesn't exactly look like the ref is giving them a thorough checking...

Certain blades/studs are banned on boots these days and all under shorts/cycling shorts must be the same colour as the actual shorts I believe (resident Saints web refs can confirm!)

Yes, quite correct. If undershorts or tights (!) are worn they must be the same colour as the shorts. The same applies to vests and jerseys. The checking of studs came about in the days when nylon studs were common. If the player had walked across hard concrete floors then these studs could get worn down leaving a jagged edge which could cause nasty flesh wounds.

It's all in here, page 21:

At least they try to put something different on each of these, the Martin Tyler bit was quite interesting and nice that he requested to do this game as his anniversary for commentating for 40 years. Strange to see Mourinho just milling about outside the dressing room in the corridor you never see that with other coaches.

I enjoy watching these matchday uncovered clips, when we don't lose!

2 questions:

1) What does Tadic have in his box? Maybe it's his lucky black cat!! (can't see any air holes though!)

2) What are in the envelopes which the players bring back from the pre-match lunch?

Strange the box really, it's not even the same one that he had 2 months or so ago, then it was a common or garden cool box, now it's smaller and a different shape. I wonder if it's for some sort of medical treatment that he needs all of the time, then again you'd think the club could sort that out so that he doesn't have to lug it about. Maybe there's nothing at all, just likes to create a talking point.

I imagine the envelopes are tickets for family/friends?

Tadic's box is a complete mystery. I also don't understand why they need to walk round the stadium to get wherever they're going. I can't imagine that would have happened under Cortese.
