Let me start by saying that I and my daughter are both ST holders. We would both be willing to boycott a game if we thought that it would have an effect on the state of affairs at SMS. The problem is that the normal gate is around 15K. If you could manage to get all 15k to boycott - brilliant!! Realistically, how many of those 15k can TSW get to and get them to act? As much as I love this forum (my wife will tell you that!!) we are just an active minority. There are 12K plus who do not care as much as we do. How do we energise those people. I am prepared to take whatever action that it takes to rid SFC of the parasites and egotists who are killing the club that I have LOVED for well over 50 years, but the action has to be well organised and effective. Is vague talk of "boycott" the right way?:(:(

I think that I ought to say that I am VERY ANGRY at what has happened to the club that I have loved for all of these years and will not just sit back and accept things as they are. I am prepared to act but it must be organised and effective.

Boycotting is not the answer, as I have said elsewhere. It is not a tangible protest, that is why any boycott that there has been so far is ineffective. Take my own case. If I don't turn up am I boycotting. No of course not, I was never a "every home game" supporter (except for a few years in the 70s). How can I support a boycott? Boycotts are only effective if the boycotters actually turn up somewhere (preferably outside the main entrance) and demonstrate their anger, in a non-violent way. In this case, if a protest is orgnaised, I can be there showing my support for the stay-away protest. If 15k turn up at SMS on match day and protest peacefully and clearly outside the ground, then notice will be taken, and it will be effective because everyone will see the numbers, and the numbers can be directly translated into £££s so that even Lowe will undertstand.

I think your'e wrong. A boycott is very practical cos it makes a really strong stance against lowe. Also lowe loves the limelight of a full stadium so it would take away his power.

Of course an EFFECTIVE boycott would be a fantastic tool in the fight against Lowe and Co but you haven`t addressed my original point. How do you get 15000 people to boycott? How do you actually organise it?

Also you have to take into consideration that 9,500 of those fans have already purchased their tickets so most will choose not to boycott. You also have a lot of pro Lowe who do not bother to post on this forum and as you say the members on this forum are a minority. In the poll running "would you boycott" only 268 have registered a vote which is about 1% of the gate against Forest recently.

1/3 voting on this, probably more militant supporters forum don't back boycott.

Its not going to work, will embarress decent fans and gain nothing but bad publicity for our club.

The only way Lowe lost his power last time was through someone (Wilde) buying more shares than him and finding more allies to boost their share holdings which was greater than Lowe's, even then Lowe waited to the very end before stepping down although he knew deep down he was onto a loser. Lowe is thick skinned and any boycott would be ammunition in his pocket to blame the fans for not attending SMS.

totally agree. The way to get him out is to buy him out, anything else damages the club even more and does nothing to undermine him.

add to that around 1,000 away fans= a gate of 10,500. not much lower than normal= not much notice taken by lowe, but still damages our club.

Personally I think the best thing would be to get as many people as possible to a selected match, but not go to our seats until about 10/ 15 minutes into the game... IMO this would really get Lowes attention and if the gate was 20,000+ would show him how much money HE is depriving the club of.
