Maggie May Posted 28 December, 2014 Posted 28 December, 2014 Air Asia flight QZ 8501 travelling from Indonesia to Singapore has gone missing - reports That's Tony Fernandes' firm, no? http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-30614627
Lighthouse Posted 28 December, 2014 Posted 28 December, 2014 The circumstances sounds similar to those of AF447, although saying there is a link between the causes would be pure speculation.
Lorne Malvo Posted 28 December, 2014 Posted 28 December, 2014 Poor Buggers. Hope they didn't suffer at all. Search called off for the night. On a side note, one of the radio stations in Perth, the news lady reported ..and I kid you not. 'the good news is that there were no Australians on board'. Shocking.

Which was similar to the xl airways flight from Perpignan in 2008 where key instruments froze in bad weather. You would think pilots all know about that now though? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gemmel Posted 30 December, 2014 Posted 30 December, 2014 I've taken the kop out on this one. I saw the picture of a family distressed on the front page of the BBC website and decided not to click the link, to avoid reading the awful news inside.
Lighthouse Posted 30 December, 2014 Posted 30 December, 2014 I think it's safe to say this hasn't been a great year for Malaysian aviation. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2891137/AirAsia-plane-carrying-153-people-overshoots-runway-Philippines-forcing-passengers-evacuate-emergency-slides.html?ito=social-facebook Relatively minor incident but still not good.
