Jonnyboy Posted 26 December, 2014 Posted 26 December, 2014 10 year anniversary has come around quick. Anyone on here get caught up in it? I was in Thailand. Bad times.
kwsaint Posted 26 December, 2014 Posted 26 December, 2014 I was in year 4 at primary school and we raised money for it. Truly shocking natural disaster.
Lighthouse Posted 26 December, 2014 Posted 26 December, 2014 I remember flying back from Italy during the day and opening Christmas presents in the evening with this on the news. I remember watching and thinking there would be some damage and a few drownings but I never imagined 1/4 million dead at the time. It's got to be the worst single event in mankind in terms of human loss. Roughly the same number killed as Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.
sadoldgit Posted 27 December, 2014 Posted 27 December, 2014 Ten years ago? Wow. These kind of events just go to show what specks we are in the great scheme of things and that Man will never conquer nature.
PhilippineSaint Posted 27 December, 2014 Posted 27 December, 2014 I watched dead cows floating past oil rigs in the Persian Gulf a week or so after it was over.
Lorne Malvo Posted 28 December, 2014 Posted 28 December, 2014 I watched dead cows floating past oil rigs in the Persian Gulf a week or so after it was over. Pull the udder one.
