teacher Posted 24 December, 2014 Share Posted 24 December, 2014 With Elia coming in on a 6 month loan to join Toby and Bertrand also on loan, it got me thinking how many more are we allowed? I read somewhere that Saints won't be signing any on perminent deal in January as well.

Is it 4 international loans, or is it unlimited. It's not a bad way to get players in with a view to permanent deal. Means RK can have a good look at them, see if they integrate into the squad on and off the pitch and make a decision on them. Only problem is if we bring someone in, they're really good then we lose them to a bigger club without getting a financial benefit.
Roger Posted 24 December, 2014 Share Posted 24 December, 2014 I think we will sign Bertrand in jan anyway according to reports.

VectisSaint Posted 24 December, 2014 Share Posted 24 December, 2014 Premier League rules limit clubs to just two season-long domestic loans but international deals are, essentially, limitless. So bringing Elia in has no effect whatsoever. Given we are also half way through the season rules about season long loans are also out of the window, so to speak. Bertrand is on a season long loan so I'd be surprised if we sign him in Jan when we don't need to. I fully expect to have him signed in the summer though. Saint_clark Posted 24 December, 2014 Share Posted 24 December, 2014 I thought the amount you could have was limitless, it was the amount in the matchday squad that was restricted.
nta786 Posted 24 December, 2014 Share Posted 24 December, 2014 Everton had 3 last season too I believe- Lukaku, Deuolofeu and Barry.

As already posted: Premier League rules limit clubs to just two season-long domestic loans but international deals are, essentially, limitless. Deulofeu was from Barcelona so was not domestic. Domestic means from another club in England, last time I checked Barcelona were in Spain.

Redslo Posted 24 December, 2014 Share Posted 24 December, 2014 Only benefit is he could then play vs chelsea And we could loan another player from Chelsea.

Because you don't seem to be able to understand what a domestic loan is. PL Clubs are allowed a maximum of 2 DOMESTIC SEASON LONG LOANS. Domestic means loans by other English Clubs. Deulofeu was a loan from Barcelona. Now which bit of domestic loans do you not understand? It really isn't a difficult concept. Everton can have as many fecking season long loans as they want, but only 2 domestic. OK? Happy Christmas.
