badgerx16 Posted 22 December, 2014 Posted 22 December, 2014 RIP A classic example of a cover version proving superior to the original : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRzKUVjHkGk Joe Cocker was first act on the Sunday afternoon at Woodstock, and performed for an hour and a half, delivering this song as his encore. Within minutes of him finishing a thunderstorm drenched everyone and everything, delaying the show for about 3 hours.
lifeintheslowlane Posted 22 December, 2014 Posted 22 December, 2014 Very sad saw him a few times in the early years. The first time in 1968 at The Concord with about 250 people there. It was the week "With a Little Help from my Friends" broke into the top 20 and he was very excited about it...the following week it made number 1. The Grease Band were a great stomping band too...perfect foil for his style in the early days. RIP Joe.
