SAINTSWEB MATCH REPORT: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content.php?532-MATCH-REPORT-SAINTS-2-0-Everton-Barclays-Premier-League Saints end their winless run with a convincing victory over Everton at St. Mary's. Over to you... Edited 20 December, 2014 by Saint-Armstrong
BotleySaint Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 What a stunning result without most of our first choice midfield. Shane Long MOM Yoshida and Davis close behind. Playing two up front really worked for us today. Better deliveries into the box. Keeper made good saves. Toby was everywhere. The perfect result basically!
trousers Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 The Saints are back in business. Everton poor but we played well in the circumstances. We march on! P.s. lol at Koeman trying to suppress a huge grin after the final whistle
stknowle Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Most pleasing win of the season without doubt. Had low expectations but the lads did us proud. C'mon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
pingwing Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Motm yoshida and Toby in some weird joing winner moment and what a result

Saint86 Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Good win and a snap shot of the future. Happy saints fan
Window Cleaner Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Excellent, few chances 3 goals. Good defensive performance to boot.
Saints foreva Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Get in there, well done lads! Good performance from Harrison Reed as well!
SuperSAINT Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 An unexpected and VERY welcome result. Great result for us. So pleased for Harrison Reed who sounds like he did really well on his 1st Prem start.
WGC Saint Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Didn't see that coming but mightily happy. Well done RK and the stand-in players. How many bedwetters will be calling for RK's head tonight? Muppets.....
Pastor Patrón Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 So much more enjoyable having academy players in and around the starting 11, Reed's class, even Long was good today. Really hope Koeman keeps giving our youngsters some game time when our injured players come back.
trousers Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 5th at Christmas (subject to Arsenal not winning by 7 goals!). Happy Days
hasper57saint Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Yoshida MOM for me.Don't want to gloat but I told you so.
Coxford_lou Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Has anyone got one of those comparison to last year tables?
OldNick Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 you can say no more than hats off to Koeman and the team
sentry Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 I really thought we would loose this, weakened teamand Everton have been looking better lately. Makes the Villa/Burnley results lately look a lot worse. Mane will have to really try to get his place back, good to see JWP taking corners as he is much better than Tadic, Davis was good too. One negative really, and im not critising RK but why not bring on Seager for 5 mins at the end, I know a prem game is no place for sentimentality but he has played well at under 21, looks to be a good player and Pelle needs rest sometimes , we should be looking at our youth for cover. Hmmm oh well, who cares. 3 points! COYS!

Heisenberg Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Well played Saints. Didnt expect much today. Very happy with that, back on form
Bearsy Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 massive win! Lolz @ win report goes straight up, lose reports... not so much!
Dalek2003 Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 That is why football is the best game in the world. Great team spirit and desire to win. Fonte yellow is a downer but we should get some players back soon.
kaffeemeister Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 i reckon long worked his socks off after all the really horrible criticism. same as toby. caps off for the saints, i lost a couple betting against the team i support, but it was all worth it
Saint-Armstrong Posted 20 December, 2014 Author Posted 20 December, 2014 We won 3-0 not 2-0.. Doh. God damn Maya Yoshida and his late goal sliding under the radar as the report was being written... ...even when he does score, it's inconvenient.
austsaint Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 We had that little bit of luck today denied to us v Man U. The side showed more desire for the win than Everton. Reed's performance couldn't be missed; Toby was good and so was Steve Davis - but a special mention for Yoshida; really good today and took the goal well.
KelvinsRightGlove Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Couldn't watch the game as I'm in Berlin. Can't believe what I'm reading, great result. Out of interest, how was Reed?

Window Cleaner Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Couldn't watch the game as I'm in Berlin. Can't believe what I'm reading, great result. Out of interest, how was Reed? Solid, aggressive enough, didn't do anything wrong, good movement.
Bearsy Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Couldn't watch the game as I'm in Berlin. Can't believe what I'm reading, great result. Out of interest, how was Reed? omg love berlin have u sin all the bears??? thr evrwar!

Yoshida also helped set up his own goal by winning the ball back on the edge of their area. Will no doubt start on Friday with Toby.
redder freak Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 I didn't expect that from what appeared on paper to be a second string team. Well done to Ronald and the management. Got the tactics just right. An all-round team performance with every player doing well.
trousers Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Couldn't watch the game as I'm in Berlin. Can't believe what I'm reading, great result. Out of interest, how was Reed? He took my breath away. (anyone over the age of 40 should get that one)
badgerx16 Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Nice to see RK willing to play with the formation when necessary, it seems he at least is capable of a 'plan B'.
St Chalet Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 He took my breath away. (anyone over the age of 40 should get that one) Top Gunning there.
EBS1980 Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Did we play a flat Central midfield 3 of JWP, Reed and Davis? Or did one sit or one more advanced?
B Rabbit Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Glad Long had a good game. Alderweirald and Forster were also superb today not sure how we can lose midweek and play utter horsesh1t but then come and play like that today. Good to be back to winning ways.
ericofarabia Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Good result against a 12 Man Everton. The Ref really was the pits. I liked the HT Stats. SFC No shots on target but winning 1-0. Not liking the on target bit obviously though!!
sandwichsaint Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Couldn't watch the game as I'm in Berlin. Can't believe what I'm reading, great result. Out of interest, how was Reed? Ich bin ein Berliner, one for the over 60's.
simo Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Everyone played well imo , good to see the nippers step up !
Window Cleaner Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Did we play a flat Central midfield 3 of JWP, Reed and Davis? Or did one sit or one more advanced? Looked fluid, difficult to say really.
Greenridge Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Great confidence booster going in to the Xmas period.
trousers Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 not sure how we can lose midweek and play utter horsesh1t but then come and play like that today. A rocket up their collective arses from Koeman I would venture
ericofarabia Posted 20 December, 2014 Posted 20 December, 2014 Toby MOTM for me. Good to see Forster's concentration and reactions up to the mark as well.
