Even the two league games after those are tough, United and Newcastle away. :scared:

It's easy to predict lots of bad results, as we're on a bad run. Whilst it's also easy to predict a load of good results when we've been winning.

It rarely happens like that though, so I expect us to do a lot better than people expect in the next 4/5.

I stand by my prediction made at the start of the season, between 42 and 44 points.

I think we will get much more than this.... We have some very winnable home games. 50 points + for me. Every team has a bad patch. Let's get this out the way and get on with things after a few new signings. We will beat Everton on Saturday and get a point at palace!

I see at least 20 points from our remaining home games.

Well, let's hope so. I said on another thread, we need to dig and start grinding out results. In a way, if we are the underdogs again there is no shame in parking the bus and nicking a point. Another factor will be our recruiting in January. We need some good players to shore up a squad that is beginning to buckle.

Said to my kids this morning, honestly can't see us picking up a point until Feb 1st with the current squad.

It's not that bad, once we get past Saturday we'll have everybody available for a few games, unless Clyne or Mané get booked again of course. Oh and Bertrand for Chelsea of course.

Frightening, because we would really be looking at a relegation scrap and I am NOT trolling !

We will win a couple, even though it looks like we will not at this moment in time. Think we will have 32 points by the end of Jan. 40 by the end of Feb.

I hope you are right. Lets hope for a win against the 'Toffeemen', any type will do including a lucky win. We are due one.

Things will turn back around, that is football. Other teams have done the same. West Ham and Swansea dropped away a bit, then picked up again. Also look at Newcastle. Let's hope we catch them on a downer in Jan!

There we go, everything is not quite as bad again now!

We might even manage to get to 47 or 48 by the end of the season with a bit of luck and a following wind.

With my rose tinted glasses that I've just found in my sock drawer our last game of the season at Man City will decide if we finish 3rd or 4th!!

No 1st or 2nd with it being the most hyped game of the year by Sky and nearly every neutral in the country willing us to win. My glasses are not rose tinted but pure Southampton red tinted. ???

It says in your post at the top of the page that you edited it on grounds of "stupidity".

How mind-blowingly stupid was the original?

Embarassing. A few unlucky defeats and suddenly we are awful overnight in many peoples predictions. Jesus

Welcome to the snap, knee jerk world of the modern football fan.

Ignore the long-term, focus on the short-term snap shots. Apparently.

It's the usual, not too bright, bedwetting period clots every single time.

I'm sure they'll have their Wreck It Ralph avatars back in the summer.

I assume 10 points from a possible 12 is acceptable.
