Batman Posted 16 December, 2014 Share Posted 16 December, 2014 cannot see anything other than a saints loss They (like most of the top sides) have started to find a bit of form and they have a pretty impressive squad. They are also very strong in midfield. Most of ours is not available Barkley will take some stopping also and Naismith is a very good player Pelle will be fresh, which is good But I fear he will play right into the hands of Jageilka and Distin Hopefully tadic is back and davis too....Toby is bound to start in midfield and JWP will probably join him Clyne and Bertrand will need to be good as coleman and baines looked very good against QPR (as did barkley and naismith) oh boy
Hodgey Posted 16 December, 2014 Share Posted 16 December, 2014 I don't think we will get hammered like some do. Don't think we will win either - a ground out 1-1 to break the run of defeats with this team Forster Clyne Fonte Yoshida Bertrand Toby Davis Long JWP Tadic Pelle
Baird of the land Posted 16 December, 2014 Share Posted 16 December, 2014 No cork, Morgan or wanyama. No doubt reed will spend another 90 minutes sitting on the bench unused. Can't say I'm optimistic.

Tom28 Posted 16 December, 2014 Share Posted 16 December, 2014 We have to go back to what made us so strong which was a consistent back five. So, Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Toby, Bertrand. Up top, back to Pelle, Tadic and Long for me. Mane simply cannot play, and Mayuka should be nowhere near the bench. I cannot fathom that the likes of Seager and Rowe are worse than Mayuka. So that leaves the midfield three. If Davis is fit, then I'd go with Reed, JWP and Davis. Reed surely has to play this week?!
Charlie Wayman Posted 16 December, 2014 Share Posted 16 December, 2014 With half the team in self destruct mode, there is more than a chance that we are now consigned to losing the next four in a row. Does anybody see any way of halting the slide? Everton looks very difficult after tonight's rash of yellow and red cards. This could be a horror show, predicting the score almost irrelevant. Saint_Tony Posted 16 December, 2014 Share Posted 16 December, 2014 Think we will lose the midfield battle. Confidence is low, whilst Everton are starting to build up a bit of monentum. Saints 1-4 Everton, followed by the biggest meltdown seen on here in recent years. Everyone needs to relax and accept where we are at right now. It is really disappointing when the other sides still in it would be beatable by the team that we had playing for Saints a month ago (possible exception of Chelsea but anyone can have an off day). God help anyone who starts calling for RoKo's head I reckon he'll stick Toby as the DM on Saturday, with JWP and Davis just in front. Yoshida will be at the back. Tadic and Long on either flank. Mane needs to be taken out of the firing line.
Killers Knee Posted 17 December, 2014 Share Posted 17 December, 2014 The only interest I have in this match is if a bet for an Everton win will pay for my holiday in Dubai.

Tadic and Long on either flank. Mane needs to be taken out of the firing line. Would hope with that but isn't Davis injured? In which case either Reed finally l you get gets a chance or Tadic plays deeper with either Mane or prefetably Isgrove filling the gap. Hope we don't try Bertrand on the wing again - didn't work for me. Massive game. Our 5 losses have been against successively worse teams, now we face a good team finding form. Have to be sharper, quicker to move the ball and ready to shoot on sight.
Goatboy Posted 17 December, 2014 Share Posted 17 December, 2014 Everton didn't look all that against QPR. Pelle x2 and Bertrand x1. 3-0 saints.

S-Clarke Posted 17 December, 2014 Share Posted 17 December, 2014 Everton didn't look all that against QPR. Pelle x2 and Bertrand x1. 3-0 saints. Hopefully this can kind of work for us, as when we often face a team decimated with suspensions and injuries we manage to slip up, as the expectations on us to win are greater. Look at Villa for e.g....they're entire defense was injured! they had to revert to their 4th and 5th choice, yet they kept us at bay. Hopefully we can catch Everton as complacent as we have been in recent weeks.
