Saint_clark Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Rodgers is either being very brave or very foolish. Have to say, I think he's picking the right team for the way he wants to play.
Window Cleaner Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Sterling,Lallana and Coutinho might just exploit Utd's makeshift defence, I mean does Young actually have any defensive attributes ? See a Liverpool win here myself.

Lucky Man U looking to benefit again by opponents not exploiting their weakness.
Batman Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 United look terrible at the back Nothing new there Great goal though by rooney
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 December, 2014 Author Posted 14 December, 2014 GOAL: Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool - Wayne Rooney 12'
Saint_clark Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Standard in this game is shockingly poor Really? Both teams passing the ball well in my eye.
L_O_Z Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Lallana seems to be Liverpools biggest threat going forward. Some great turns and looks the most likely to get an assist
Batman Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 You can appreciate how good Rooney is playing in this role
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 December, 2014 Author Posted 14 December, 2014 GOAL: Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool - Juan Mata 40'
S-Clarke Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 How the hell was that allowed to stand? Funny, but for a game at this level, absoutley diabolical officiating. Doesn't give you much confidence in the other games!
shurlock Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 2-0 game over Miles offside though Neville being a homer - was obvious immediately from the replay and had to take Tyler to point it out.
Stud mark of doom Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Lallana has put a couple of great balls in for Lambo. Pity he's not playing. Brenda is a tactical genius. Good with transfers too.
Batman Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Although liverpool look better They are still terrible Brenda won't be in the job before the end of the season

Doesn't give you much confidence in the other games! Must have just not seen the touch from RVP. A bit of communication though and the ref could have told him he touched it.

Doesn't give you much confidence in the other games! Not convinced there was a touch from Van Persie to be honest, he certainly didn't change the flight of the ball.
L_O_Z Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Neville being a homer - was obvious immediately from the replay and had to take Tyler to point it out. Oh come on only 1 of the Liverpool players spotted it was offside. I didn't spot it at first either
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 December, 2014 Author Posted 14 December, 2014 HT: Manchester United 2-0 Liverpool
L_O_Z Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Not convinced there was a touch from Van Persie to be honest, he certainly didn't change the flight of the ball. Took me 2 or 3 replays but it does look like he gets something on it
GarrettIvo Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Not convinced there was a touch from Van Persie to be honest, he certainly didn't change the flight of the ball. Yes but you're eyes also tell you the passing has been good. I'd get them checked. So much poor giving the ball away. Fellaini especially. And there's no doubt RvP got a touch. Clear as day on the replays.
shurlock Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 (edited) Oh come on only 1 of the Liverpool players spotted it was offside. I didn't spot it at first either Mata was effectively on the far post, behind all the Liverpool players (except perhaps Moreno). None were in a position to see or appeal for offside. Batman Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Not convinced there was a touch from Van Persie to be honest, he certainly didn't change the flight of the ball. Not convinced? WTF???
Window Cleaner Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Not convinced? WTF??? Let's face it, t'was just another in a long series of arbitral f*cks up in favour of Utd, Moreno is an awful player though, how much did they pay for him ?
Whitey Grandad Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Not convinced there was a touch from Van Persie to be honest, he certainly didn't change the flight of the ball. It was an obvious touch that a ref in a better position must have spotted. In a situation like this it's up to the ref to check with his assistant as to whether he had seen the flick-on. Even watching on TV You could see it at the time. Old Trafford bias.
Saint_clark Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Liverpool are pathetic. What the hell was Sterling doing.
redder freak Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 You've got to bury chances like that at this level.
Ludwig Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 You've got to bury chances like that at this level. Mods - I think we have a commentary cliché bot on this site? Might want to check the IP.
Batman Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 De Gea best united player in the last few weeks
shurlock Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Liverpool don't deserve to be losing this.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Liverpool don't deserve to be losing this. Sterling has missed 2 sitters and Liverpool have defended poorly. Of course they deserve it.
Batman Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 3-0 acres of space in the middle of the park for Mata to run in And there we had it, lovren's cock up. lol
Saint_clark Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Lovren! Hahahaha. ****s up and keeps Van Persie onside
S-Clarke Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 lol @ lovren. what a total mess of a player he is. To russia with love In January I think.
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 December, 2014 Author Posted 14 December, 2014 FULL-TIME: Manchester United 3-0 Liverpool
VectisSaint Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 De Gea's quite useful. Hope FF was watching a goalkeeping master class (not a criticism of yesterday, that was an unlucky deflection)
S-Clarke Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Hope FF was watching a goalkeeping master class (not a criticism of yesterday, that was an unlucky deflection) I remember De Gea when he first joined Utd. Young goal keeper, failed to command the area, let in some clangers...but they let him mature, they allowed him to develop, and he turned into a top class keeper. This is the lesson we should take from that.

S-Clarke Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Fair points, except Forster is 26, two years older than De Gea, five years older than De Gea when he came to the PL. Still young in GK terms, and still young to this league. He has all the natural attributes there.
sammysaint Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Kind of makes yesterdays result better liverpool losing a rival for a top 6 spot, now for Swansea and Spurs, ideally a draw would be great, keeps us in a great postion to go beat Everton at home next week and be 5th going into the new year with 29 points, which I am sure many pundits didn't have us having after 27 games let alone 17. Top 6/7 finish is well on track lets seal it earlier by having some results go are way over the next few weeks and us winning again now our best player MS is back.
macca155 Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 top 6/7 is the new top 4 Actually I think the way Newcastle and Liverpool (our genuine rivals this year) have been taken apart by the Arse and Utd is actually quite encouraging. They had much harder games against us and whilst Arse kicked us off the field and we gifted Utd the win, there was no way Saints were going to be beaten like that. City took us dead serious brought their 1st team and A game and we had sore bottoms by the end of the game but there was a level of respect there that I haven't seen before. Personally I'm not bothered about Utd, City, and Chelsea. They probably earn more in programme sales than Saints do at the gate and we simply cannot compete with that at the moment. RVP is not what he was but that finish for their winner was world class and that is what you get when you pay the big money. Look at Liverpool without Suarez they have lost that edge. Saints are in a league of Everton, Newcastle, Swansea, West Ham, Spurs and Liverpool. Arsenal are on the fringes but I suspect they'll pull away once the real infighting starts. 7 points cover the teams so we best brace ourselves for a roller coaster ride. Everybody is going to be beating everybody else its going to be like a relegation fight but without the consequences. Spurs seem to be getting it together which is a worry but Saints have to play 5 of those teams at home so there can't be any excuses.
Sour Mash Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 Spurs really on the back foot against Swansea, ball just not dropping for Bony.
Wiggles31 Posted 14 December, 2014 Posted 14 December, 2014 How is that not a red card by Vertonghen. It's pathetic how bad refs are these days.
