Sterling,Lallana and Coutinho might just exploit Utd's makeshift defence, I mean does Young actually have any defensive attributes ?

See a Liverpool win here myself.

Playing with no strikers against a **** defence, I suspect Rodgers is just being his usual clueless self. Lucky Man U looking to benefit again by opponents not exploiting their weakness.

Not convinced there was a touch from Van Persie to be honest, he certainly didn't change the flight of the ball.

Yes but you're eyes also tell you the passing has been good. I'd get them checked. So much poor giving the ball away. Fellaini especially. And there's no doubt RvP got a touch. Clear as day on the replays.

Oh come on :) only 1 of the Liverpool players spotted it was offside. I didn't spot it at first either

Mata was effectively on the far post, behind all the Liverpool players (except perhaps Moreno). None were in a position to see or appeal for offside.

It was an obvious touch that a ref in a better position must have spotted. In a situation like this it's up to the ref to check with his assistant as to whether he had seen the flick-on. Even watching on TV You could see it at the time. Old Trafford bias.

Hope FF was watching a goalkeeping master class (not a criticism of yesterday, that was an unlucky deflection)

I remember De Gea when he first joined Utd.

Young goal keeper, failed to command the area, let in some clangers...but they let him mature, they allowed him to develop, and he turned into a top class keeper.

This is the lesson we should take from that.

Fair points, except Forster is 26, two years older than De Gea, five years older than De Gea when he came to the PL.

Kind of makes yesterdays result better liverpool losing a rival for a top 6 spot, now for Swansea and Spurs, ideally a draw would be great, keeps us in a great postion to go beat Everton at home next week and be 5th going into the new year with 29 points, which I am sure many pundits didn't have us having after 27 games let alone 17.

Top 6/7 finish is well on track lets seal it earlier by having some results go are way over the next few weeks and us winning again now our best player MS is back.

top 6/7 is the new top 4 :)

Actually I think the way Newcastle and Liverpool (our genuine rivals this year) have been taken apart by the Arse and Utd is actually quite encouraging. They had much harder games against us and whilst Arse kicked us off the field and we gifted Utd the win, there was no way Saints were going to be beaten like that.

City took us dead serious brought their 1st team and A game and we had sore bottoms by the end of the game but there was a level of respect there that I haven't seen before.

Personally I'm not bothered about Utd, City, and Chelsea. They probably earn more in programme sales than Saints do at the gate and we simply cannot compete with that at the moment. RVP is not what he was but that finish for their winner was world class and that is what you get when you pay the big money. Look at Liverpool without Suarez they have lost that edge.

Saints are in a league of Everton, Newcastle, Swansea, West Ham, Spurs and Liverpool. Arsenal are on the fringes but I suspect they'll pull away once the real infighting starts. 7 points cover the teams so we best brace ourselves for a roller coaster ride. Everybody is going to be beating everybody else its going to be like a relegation fight but without the consequences. Spurs seem to be getting it together which is a worry but Saints have to play 5 of those teams at home so there can't be any excuses.
