Window Cleaner Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Scruffy game, they've dragged us down to their level.
Jack Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Surely RK is wise enough to make the change at HT then, like for like with Mane, maybe switching sides with Tadic to see if he gets more joy there.
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 No it was`nt, watch it again...it was the momentum of his movement and his side collided with the GK, nothing disgusting at all Nothing biased with your post lol
Saint Without a Halo Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 The challenge we did on their keeper was disgusting to be fair Looked bad but if you see it in slow motion Heskeths momentum means he slides in but he avoids hitting the keeper in the head however the keeper rolls around holding his head. The keeper got the boy booked!
simo Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Well, we haven't seen much flowing football and have punted the ball up the field. I would say that Burnley have matched our skill with aggression. We are missing our heartbeat in Morgan
alpine_saint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Looks like we've completely lost our mojo...
Rich102 Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Difficult half - didn't realise what a horrible team Burnley were, and it's awful luck to be playing them with Clattenberg as ref. We haven't looked too bad. A bit jittery at the back but generally in control. Pelle's won a lot in the air - but Mane and Tadic are letting us down again. Shout out for Steven Davis who's been impeccable in a Xavi style role. One of our best signings of the last few years IMO.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Nothing biased with your post lol Nope the truth...as i said watch it again and you will see...no need to apologize when you do i know you love to post anything negative if possible.."lol"
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Looked bad but if you see it in slow motion Heskeths momentum means he slides in but he avoids hitting the keeper in the head however the keeper rolls around holding his head. The keeper got the boy booked! Of course, you would defend the player with this had arfield did that challenge on forster
KingdomCome Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Looks like we've completely lost our mojo... It's spelled "Morgan"
Plastic Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 The ground is clearly hard and slippy, this will have contributed to hesketh's slide, but he was too enthusiastic and deserved the yellow. Terrible half so far.
Mallagroth Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I can only follow here and on the Guardian's website, where the minute-by-minute asks: "Southampton have not threatened much at Burnley yet. They had similar problems breaking Villa down on their own turf the other week. Are people wising up to Koeman’s men?" True? We are having real problems with being the team that dictates the play and style of the game. We played better football against the better teams because that is the way they wanted to play. Mane is very off form and I believe that Tadic is only half the player on the right. This double problem is what is really causing us the issues in the final third. Pelle needs more than one chance a game because he is good but not a top champ league forward. I think Long on right and Tadic left is the way to go in the beginning of games with mane the impact replacement with his speed later on. It seemed to work better like this for us earlier in the season, then we let Mane start in place of long which was okay at first but since Mane has lost form and confidence to run at players the whole confidence of our forward players has gradually dropped. Mane needs to sit for a while and earn that starting spot back.
NewYorkSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Hesketh the story so far. What an exciting prospect he is. I was worried he'd get crunched and sure enough. Feel bad for the lad. But exciting to know we have him up a-coming. Mane looked dangerous for us at times and some great play from Pelle. Great save Forster. Toby having a bit of a 'mare.
Leicestersaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Why on earth is Mayuka on the bench?
Bewildered Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Poor half, Hesketh was playing really well until he got taken out. Other than that, Pelle's been quiet, Tadic has been poor, Mane has been poor and Bertrand needs to do more to stop Trippier from crossing. Burnley started well, but faded after 20 minutes as the game became more about our ineffective, indecisive attacking play.
Saints foreva Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Why on earth is Mayuka on the bench? I get more worried that we seem to actually be giving him game time. He's ****e, always has been and always will be. It's like going down to 10 men when he enters the field of play.
Bad Wolf Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Why on earth is Mayuka on the bench? You suggesting he should start?
VectisSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Why on earth is Mayuka on the bench? Impact sub
Bearsy Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 hmm not sure we're gonna have much joy just lobbing in crosses today. Pass+movement pls!
Plumstead_Saint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 You suggesting he should start? Please, God, no!
verlaine1979 Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Did Tadic going off the ball coincide with him moving to the right to accommodate Mane, or is that just me reaching for an excuse?
Saint_Tony Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Big half time team talk by RoKo needed. Anything less than 3 points and our top 6 hopes will be over
Saints foreva Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Did Tadic going off the ball coincide with him moving to the right to accommodate Mane, or is that just me reaching for an excuse? Thought that as well.
Lighthouse Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Big half time team talk by RoKo needed. Anything less than 3 points and our top 6 hopes will be over I thought you told us they were over after we lost to Man City.
ART Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 If Mayuka is played today I give up on Koeman's sub choice abilities. Maybe Koeman thinks he can motivate Pelle by the insult of playing Mayuka in his place.
CanadaSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Did Tadic going off the ball coincide with him moving to the right to accommodate Mane, or is that just me reaching for an excuse? That's how it has seemed to me. I much prefer Long on the right, Tadic on the left, and Mané on the bench. Mané doesn't seem to have a football brain at all, so his pace and (occasional) skill will end up being wasted.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 If Mayuka is played today I give up on Koeman's sub choice abilities. Maybe Koeman thinks he can motivate Pelle by the insult of playing Mayuka in his place. He has never come on for Pelle as far as i can remember
melmacian_saint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 The weather looks dreadful. Such a sunny, nice winter day down here.
StDunko Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Does anyone else think that ****tenburg is itching to send a Saints player off?
adrian lord Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I think the likes of Hesketh should be given debuts against the cultured artisan teams like say Arsenal or Chelsea, not the scything northern neanderthals like Burnley.
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Does anyone else think that ****tenburg is itching to send a Saints player off? Not really to be honest
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Mane is all over the place I think long needs to be on
Greedyfly Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Why the **** is saints player still ****ing not on the game. As poor as our performance.
LaptopSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Made for Shane Long this game - get him on.
Bearsy Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Ings is playing for his new contract. Not sure we'll give him one tho.
ART Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Erwin Koeman not on the bench. Sammy's next to Ron. Guessing Erwin's looking after Hesketh
Sheaf Saint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 FFS Mane. Got to hit the target there - at least make the keeper work. Get him off now Ron. He's just an empty shirt out there - not putting in the required effort and giving up on balls far too easily.
