Window Cleaner Posted 15 December, 2014 Share Posted 15 December, 2014 Don't get this at all. Where is the jingoism in that article? It''s OTT, pretty evident that it's come straight from the desk of our media dept. Cringeworthy, kid did sod all apart from getting booked and getting caught by Nemesis. Dangermouth Posted 15 December, 2014 Share Posted 15 December, 2014 The word has a broader meaning than that given in wiki, so WC is right (cause he used it to mean "showing a form of parochial, biased, support for a cause/belief/idea" e.g. the bestest. You made that quote up. There's nothing in the article that supports even his/your loose interpretation of the word. The first line says that Saint's famed academy continues to produce premiership class players. Well doesn't it? Is it not well known for doing so? Nowhere does it claim that the academy is the best. The rest of the article talks up Hesketh's attributes. Do you disagree with that? Someone writes a positive article about our club, and instead of being pleased some our "supporters" act like we've got a team of liars writing articles for the press. Weird. captainchris Posted 15 December, 2014 Share Posted 15 December, 2014 He looked real class yesterday. Lets hope that the injury isn't too bad. My only real criticism of RK is why he keeps bringing on MayuKa when we have these talented kids. Think one RKs weaknesses is personnel selection. He keeps playing players who are obviously not producing any form.... The declaration of Forster playing as the. 'No1 ' come what may was poor management sending out all the wrong messages and in addition Forster should have been dropped by now.... I know we have a lot of injuries in the squad but there will be a couple in the under 21s who could do a job which is at least on a par with Mane and even a very Tadic lately... Where would be in the league if we had a manager who was, like, really good at "personnel selection"?
sadoldgit Posted 15 December, 2014 Share Posted 15 December, 2014 If you dropped every player after making one or two mistakes you would struggle to put a team out. What message does it send out if you drop players for making errors? That you have to play safe all of the time and not take any chances. Koeman is no mug and has done a good job so far. I think it is fair to say that he knows what he is doing.
eelpie Posted 15 December, 2014 Share Posted 15 December, 2014 I thought he was tidy enough but not really ready. I think RK was making a point to the board in putting him on and that is that we need to strengthen the squad. Interesting point.
