Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 looks like an almost fully fit squad for everton at the weekend
Whitey Grandad Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 looks like an almost fully fit squad for everton at the weekend There's always the hope that some may get injured before we play them. Is that a dishonourable thing to think?
InvictaSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 There's always the hope that some may get injured before we play them. Is that a dishonourable thing to think? I think Batman meant our squad will be almost fully fit for Everton....that's the way it reads anyway.
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 There's always the hope that some may get injured before we play them. Is that a dishonourable thing to think? I meant. for us
Dig Dig Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 James Ward Prowse's return could resolve some of our final delivery issues.... Probably not for this game
melmacian_saint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 We weren't getting that many good deliveries from JWP previous to his injury.
VectisSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 (edited) looks like an almost fully fit squad for everton at the weekend Apart from Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Cork and Gallagher. 4 missing from a very small squad is still significant. Matthew Le God Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 looks like an almost fully fit squad for everton at the weekend Apart from Schneiderlin, Rodriguez and Gallagher. 3 missing from a very small squad is still significant. Schneiderlin travelled with the squad yesterday and Koeman said he could play against Sheff Utd.
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 sure I heard on the radio that clattenburg is having his first game back in the prem and is our ref today???
Coxford_lou Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 @JayRodriguez9: @BurnleyOfficial vs @SouthamptonFC today and I'm gutted I can't be involved ? #lightattheendofthetunnel I forgot Rodruigez was from Burnley. Must be a tough one for him miss out on.
VectisSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Schneiderlin travelled with the squad yesterday and Koeman said he could play against Sheff Utd. Very much doubt he would risk him against Sheff Utd, unless he has to. But will be good to have him back for Everton.
The Cat Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Just changed trains in Preston. They love their Xmas jumpers up here.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Hopefully Wanyama picks up a yellow today and gets his ban out the way in the cup.
jawillwill Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Just changed trains in Preston. They love their Xmas jumpers up here. Same place, same thoughts. We're the same.

Tom28 Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Hopefully Wanyama picks up a yellow today and gets his ban out the way in the cup. And Pelle. And bring Schneiderlin on near the end to pick one up too.
S-Clarke Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 And Pelle. And bring Schneiderlin on near the end to pick one up too. Yeah, cause going out of the cup should be high on our priority list...
beatlesaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Yeah, cause going out of the cup should be high on our priority list... just as well the manager isn't taking the chance to win a cup lightly. I think Ronald really wants a trip to Wembley.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Yeah and Pelle should be able to prevent himself being booked. Much harder in central midfield.
Shroppie Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 just as well the manager isn't taking the chance to win a cup lightly. I think Ronald really wants a trip to Wembley. Now I know I'm going to be in Guatemala on the Capital Cup final day I think we should concentrate on the league.
S-Clarke Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Well that will get some people moaning, I guess. Start for Hesketh, but at the expense of Long - not mane. Great to see Toby back. Full strength back 5.
Saint Charlie Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Much better balance to that team, stronger looking defence and for the first time in 3 or 4 games some bench options.
Saint_clark Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Can we finally kill this nonsense that Koeman doesn't give youth a chance?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 SAINTS: Forster; Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Bertrand; Wanyama, S. Davis; Tadić, Hesketh, Mané; Pellè. BENCH: K. Davis, Yoshida, Gardos, Reed, Ward-Prowse, Mayuka, Long.
Batman Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Hesketh looked alright when he came on against united also, good to rotate a little with so many games good to see JWP back
Saint-Armstrong Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 BURNLEY: Heaton; Trippier, Keane, Shackell Mee; Arfield, Marney, Jones, Boyd; Barnes, Ings.
James Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Odd that Mane is starting instead of Long. Pleased for Hesketh. Time to step up son.
Dig Dig Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I don't find it odd that Mane is starting, he is a better player than Long after all
SaintAndy14 Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I don't find it odd that Mane is starting, he is a better player than Long after all Debateable, that.
Bad Wolf Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Very strange team selection. Wasn't expecting Hesketh to start but then he didn't do badly on Monday night, a few good touches and knew where his team mates were. Also, I think I'd start Long ahead of Mane and use Mane as an impact sub. Especially as Burnley are a very physical side, Long will be better equipt to deal with that IMO. Amazing that some people genuinely want players out for Tuesday, incredible that people don't seem to want to go through. Sheff Utd maybe 2 leagues below us but they'll be up for it and as it's at their home ground I'd say we need to play our strongest team. I want to win it. This could be our best chance to win a major cup for years but each to their own I guess.
Noodles Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Mane and Long play different styles, RK uses Long when he wants him to track back and he knows he won't get that with Mane.
NewYorkSaint Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Excited by this team. Hesketh's cameo Monday was exciting. He seemed to have amazing touch + incredible speed. He's TINY. I hope he doesn't get sledge-hammered. Long as substituted option is great. I'm going for 0-2 saints. Mane to score and prove the haters wrong!
Lighthouse Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Pleased for Jake. If he is genuinely good enough to be in contention then I look forward to seeing more of him.
Whitey Grandad Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I meant. for us Oops. That says a lot about my way of thinking
Dalek2003 Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Yeah, cause going out of the cup should be high on our priority list... Glad you have seen sense.
BallBoy Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Decent team considering Schneiderlin is still out. I, too, thought Hesketh looked good in his cameo on Monday. The game passed him by when we went long but before that he looked skilful, tidy and intelligent. The bench finally looks to have some strength there. We should be ready for all eventualities. Long and Mane are very different but they are unlikely to play together very often. I like them both. Mane can be a match winner even on an off day.
ART Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Koeman does listen. Gone are all the headphones and earplugs. Nice!
Asaint4ever Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I don't find it odd that Mane is starting, he is a better player than Long after all Good joke that mate. Christmas cracker?
richard Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 I think we've been spoiled a bit with how quickly Pelle and Tadic settled in. Mane is just taking the normal amount of time. He has looked a bit lost occassionally but that's just the step up he's making.
Saint Pete Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Better options off the bench today which could be important. Will be interesting to see how Hesketh goes - good luck kid!
Dig Dig Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Good joke that mate. Christmas cracker? On average and over time I think Mane will contribute more than Long. Ron obviously agrees.
Mr X Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 need a clean sheet today! 7 goals conceded in the last four games, we were playing the top teams but even so
SNSUN Posted 13 December, 2014 Posted 13 December, 2014 Hartson on the BBC "Southampton had a fantastic start and got themselves up to third. They have played some top sides in their last three matches and lost and now they need to get back to winning ways." We were second at one point. Bloody media. :-)
