There's always the hope that some may get injured before we play them.

Is that a dishonourable thing to think?

I think Batman meant our squad will be almost fully fit for Everton....that's the way it reads anyway.

looks like an almost fully fit squad for everton at the weekend

Apart from Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Cork and Gallagher. 4 missing from a very small squad is still significant.

Schneiderlin travelled with the squad yesterday and Koeman said he could play against Sheff Utd.

@JayRodriguez9: @BurnleyOfficial vs @SouthamptonFC today and I'm gutted I can't be involved ? #lightattheendofthetunnel

I forgot Rodruigez was from Burnley. Must be a tough one for him miss out on.

Very much doubt he would risk him against Sheff Utd, unless he has to. But will be good to have him back for Everton.

Hopefully Wanyama picks up a yellow today and gets his ban out the way in the cup.

And Pelle. And bring Schneiderlin on near the end to pick one up too.

Yeah, cause going out of the cup should be high on our priority list...

just as well the manager isn't taking the chance to win a cup lightly. I think Ronald really wants a trip to Wembley.

Now I know I'm going to be in Guatemala on the Capital Cup final day I think we should concentrate on the league.

Well that will get some people moaning, I guess.

Start for Hesketh, but at the expense of Long - not mane.

Great to see Toby back. Full strength back 5.

Very strange team selection. Wasn't expecting Hesketh to start but then he didn't do badly on Monday night, a few good touches and knew where his team mates were. Also, I think I'd start Long ahead of Mane and use Mane as an impact sub. Especially as Burnley are a very physical side, Long will be better equipt to deal with that IMO.

Amazing that some people genuinely want players out for Tuesday, incredible that people don't seem to want to go through. Sheff Utd maybe 2 leagues below us but they'll be up for it and as it's at their home ground I'd say we need to play our strongest team. I want to win it. This could be our best chance to win a major cup for years but each to their own I guess.

Excited by this team. Hesketh's cameo Monday was exciting. He seemed to have amazing touch + incredible speed. He's TINY. I hope he doesn't get sledge-hammered. Long as substituted option is great. I'm going for 0-2 saints. Mane to score and prove the haters wrong!

Decent team considering Schneiderlin is still out. I, too, thought Hesketh looked good in his cameo on Monday. The game passed him by when we went long but before that he looked skilful, tidy and intelligent.

The bench finally looks to have some strength there. We should be ready for all eventualities.

Long and Mane are very different but they are unlikely to play together very often. I like them both. Mane can be a match winner even on an off day.

I think we've been spoiled a bit with how quickly Pelle and Tadic settled in. Mane is just taking the normal amount of time. He has looked a bit lost occassionally but that's just the step up he's making.

Hartson on the BBC

"Southampton had a fantastic start and got themselves up to third. They have played some top sides in their last three matches and lost and now they need to get back to winning ways."

We were second at one point. Bloody media. :-)
