Deano6 Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Is this really a thread? Or just a post that should have been in the post-match meltdown thread?
ivangolac Posted 8 December, 2014 Author Posted 8 December, 2014 Well seeing as nearly every mistake we've made in the last 4 games has led to a goal i think thread is worthy
Mr X Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 it was a mistake starting this thread.............. boom boom!
Golden Balls Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Costing us dearly ...... Wooooah. Insightful observation.
melmacian_saint Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 Given 95% of goals come from mistakes of some sort, one can only assume that they cost teams dearly, as conceding a goal is never a good thing.
whelk Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 Everyone being snarky but mistakes cost us and we gave them the win. This is not normal and we are making it easy for the opposition. Utd were there to be demolished, 95% of goals are like Fonte's back pass are they?
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 I've noticed in the last few games that we seem to have started making passes without looking. Just before Fonte's horror pass Bertrand had done the same thing and passed blindly into blank space.
hasper57saint Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 This should be headed 'Refs. They're costing us dearly' A friend of mine is convinced There's a 'Betting Ring' operating amongst them as some of the decisions they make/or don't beggar belief.

sadoldgit Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 Perhaps complacency is creeping in? We have given soft goals away against both City and United. Last night was very disappointing as United were awful and it was a game we should have won but not only did we make mistakes at the back, we made mistakes up front too. All to often we tried another pass instead of shooting.

I blame that stat that was bandied about a few weeks ago saying we had committed NO defensive mistakes at all this season .... published just before the Villa game I believe. Downhill ever since.
ericofarabia Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 I'm not even sure it's mistakes. Happens to all teams, the constant worry for me all season has been goals. Yes we won 8-0 once, but we've missed big chances in each game we've lost. Man City was going to be first goal wins IMO. Arsenal we couldn't score, Spurs we were poor in front of goal, Liverpool we should have beaten and last night, Man Utd we should have taken apart. They are not a good team. But it's hard to criticise much, a few poor results have to come sometimes. You don't fail to make top 4 or 5 because of these games, you fail if you let it get to you and the slip ups continue in 'easier' fixtures. I'm still hoping for top 6 and a cup final, which would be terrific, but think we need another goalscorer in January as Rodriguez isn't likely to be interested, fit, or indeed here. Brilliant timing .... Jay Rod just posted on Twitter ...4 minutes ago Hi Folks, tough few games for @SouthamptonFC but still looking good. I'm just starting to pick things up and restart the engine. Positive OK not going to happen soon, but 1st positive news (praising the team)from him in a while. So far only Man City have dominated us so far, but our ability to win or gain a draw in the other games is a concern.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 Up until Villa we were the only team in the Premiership to not make a mistake leading to a goal. It's just we've had a few in a few games, and our most difficult games at that.

Still a loss I know but the margins are very narrow. We are a decent team.

pap Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 I had to kill Bob Morton because he made a mistake.
