simo Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Simply not good enough , don't get me started on Shane Long!
Mr X Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 shane long is better at the moment in my opinion
yellow&blue Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Carlton Palmer was a far better player.....
Wade Garrett Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Oh so Mane is tonight's scapegoat is he? He was crap, to be fair.
simo Posted 8 December, 2014 Author Posted 8 December, 2014 Jesus christ Silly season again Enlighten me ?
simo Posted 8 December, 2014 Author Posted 8 December, 2014 Oh so Mane is tonight's scapegoat is he? I've been moaning for weeks about him what does he do apart from run fast ?
Ashby Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Mane has been poor for a few games but not the only one. Ron seems to want to play them back into form but not sure it's working. We really seem to lack options from the bench.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Mane is disappointing. Pace to spare, but...........
Sheaf Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He was crap, to be fair. While up the other end a bloke who gets paid £300K a week did the sum total of f**k-all himself. I think Mane has potential, but it didn't come off for him tonight. At least he was trying to make things happen, even if he did make the wrong decision at times. Was he any worse than Long? Or Pelle? Or Tadic? No.
corky morris Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Mane been poor for weeks now. It's like playing with 10. Players don't even have confidence in him!
corky morris Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 YES, loads worse! While up the other end a bloke who gets paid £300K a week did the sum total of f**k-all himself. I think Mane has potential, but it didn't come off for him tonight. At least he was trying to make things happen, even if he did make the wrong decision at times. Was he any worse than Long? Or Pelle? Unbelievable Jeff Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 It's like having Papa Waigo, or Guly, or Kanu, or...
saintedwill Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I've not been overly impressed by his first touch or decision making but I'm more than willing to give him enough time to get used to the Premier League. Some players will get it straight away while others will take time to settle. We do need someone to take the pressure off Pelle though.
Mr Saints Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 The best thing he did by some distance was attempt to cripple Van Persie. His end product is league one standard at present.
Asaint4ever Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Mane is a liability! Hasn't a clue what to do when he's on the ball and wow he can lose the ball. Totally woeful
Patrick Bateman Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Oh so Mane is tonight's scapegoat is he? He was bloody awful to be honest and has been poor for a couple of matches now. He's not "tonight's scapegoat", he just wasn't/isn't good enough at the moment.
Miltonaggro Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Oh so Mane is tonight's scapegoat is he? Terrible tonight and telling that his centre forward hesitates to pass to him and looks for other options in the final third. Raw talent but far too law for the top flight right now...
Causer Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 While up the other end a bloke who gets paid £300K a week did the sum total of f**k-all himself. I think Mane has potential, but it didn't come off for him tonight. At least he was trying to make things happen, even if he did make the wrong decision at times. Was he any worse than Long? Or Pelle? Or Tadic? No. Yes we was far worse than all 3 of those players, Pelle good goal, Tadic was involved in a lot of our decent play first half and Long was key to pressing them into mistakes. Mane on the other hand gave the ball away consistently and you can tell the players lost all faith in him as game went on.
Wade Garrett Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 While up the other end a bloke who gets paid £300K a week did the sum total of f**k-all himself. UpweySaint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He was poor but crikey some people! How long has he been with us? Has his dip not coincided with a general downturn and some tricky opponents? His link up play was not good enough but people forget last season's front three telepathy was built over time - we can't expect that right away from our new look attack. Either way who would people rather see play? We are not blessed with proven options.
Sheaf Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 OK, let's leave him out for the next game. Who does everyone think we should play instead?
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Enlighten me ? Didnt do too bad getting us to fourth
Bushey Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I'm hard pressed to see what Mané actually brings to the team at the moment. Wrong decision nearly every time, either under-hits or over-hits his passes and can't cross to save his life. And in all honesty he should have had a straight red tonight for what was a quite dreadful challenge on van Persie.
the wedge Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He should have been sent off. Without doubt. He often has the look of a headless chicken about the pitch, as well as often being offside. But the truth is, we're not blessed with options. Hesketh got a go tonight, maybe Isgrove is next.
Patrick Bateman Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 OK, let's leave him out for the next game. Who does everyone think we should play instead? ANYONE would be better currently. F**king hell, Hesketh looked more lively with better runs, I'd play him instead. He CAN'T be worse on current form.
corky morris Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 OK, let's leave him out for the next game. Who does everyone think we should play instead? Targett at left back, push Bertrand further forward. OR Tadic & play Reed. Reed deserves a chance.
simo Posted 8 December, 2014 Author Posted 8 December, 2014 Didnt do too bad getting us to fourth What exactly has he done ?
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I think he is ok, works hard, plenty of running, his decision making and technical qualities are lacking. He has potential and scared Utd tonight. Telling that Valencia couldnt get forward much. Dont really know why long gets so much stick, does so much good for the side
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He can't even choose the right boots to use i did think that
Saints foreva Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 By far the worst player on the pitch tonight.
St Chalet Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I actually hoped he'd get a red so we would be spared him versus Burnley.
Batman Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He was awful tonight A few times, pelle and Bertrand were having a right pop at him He looked like he doesn't really play football. Just very quick
saintedwill Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I think I'd like to see Isgrove or Hesketh given a run against Burnley
croydonsaint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Poor first touch and runs out of ideas on the final ball. His strength is running directly at players but not doing this. Think hes lacking confidence [lets hope hes not reading this thread]. He is a good player, give him time. He could be just a few games away from every one raving about him...............................I hope!
tpbury Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Frustrating tonight and the last couple of games. But so has the whole team been - intricate passing moves which end up with no end product and giving the ball away. Put one decent cross in and should concentrate on dong that. Fact is, he has played better, so he can play better again. Pelle was crap, Pardew was crap, West Ham were crap, now they're good. Is it possible to live outside the moment now it's after the game?
Saint_clark Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Nothing wrong with Long but Mane looked f*cking terrified today, so many times he didn't make the run when people were screaming at him.
Patrick Bateman Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I actually hoped he'd get a red so we would be spared him versus Burnley. I thought that too, haha, shameful!
simo Posted 8 December, 2014 Author Posted 8 December, 2014 Nothing wrong with Long but Mane looked f*cking terrified today, so many times he didn't make the run when people were screaming at him. I like Shane Long , but a £12m pound striker should of scored that sitter he missed!?
saint lard Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Mane is a liability. Long is good at what he does. Never a striker, but I'd rather have him in my side than the opposition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
S-Clarke Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Liability is an incredibly OTT thing to say. He will blow hot and cold, as players of his ilk always do. Saw enough of him in his first few games to suggest there's a player in there. I think he deserves a bit of slack, but quite obviously won't get it.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 I think Long does exactly what we would expect from him. Mane on the other hand offers very little and consistently makes poor decisions. As much as I dislike him for his comments when he left? We could really do with Lallana at the moment!
EBS1980 Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Simply not good enough , don't get me started on Shane Long! For every Mane we find a Tadic. We can't just buy proven quality like Di Maria or Sanchez, we have to take gambles on players like Mane. Some come off and some don't

I would rather him come on when the opposition are tiring.Perhaps take Pelle off and then put Long up the middle with Mane pace on the break, especially in away games.
