Will be interesting to see if this actually happens but Gazzetta dello Sport usually reliable(ish). SO16_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He's 15. Wont see anything of use from him until around 2020

sotonist Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He looks like an adult playing in a mini soccer game bit hard to know what make of that without seeing him play with people his own size. at least he keeps the ball on the deck. he looks skinny so his height advantage wouldn't count for as much in senior football.
The9 Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 The comments about "looks like an adult in a kids' game" are all the indication I need that the kid most likely won't be good enough. Good luck to whoever ends up stumping up for him though, prior to his lengthy slide down the leagues as teams of lessening degrees give him a game based on reputation and former clubs only. How long did it take Anthony Pulis to stop pretending to be a footballer once his dad got him in at Stoke (and he wasn't even tall)? 2-3 contracts' worth of about £10k a week should set him up nicely. Well done on being tall when young.
St Chalet Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 The 6' 5" 15 year old sounds more like the next Peter Crouch.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 lol at player 3 at the end of the video. he shouldn't really have been playing with them hes far stronger needed to be moved up to 18's atleast.
The9 Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Long and short (hoho) is that if he's good enough, it doesn't matter how much bigger than the kids of his own age he is. As by 19 he'll be needing to be good against every age group, and you learn the most by being challenged.
Deano6 Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He looks like an adult playing in a mini soccer game bit hard to know what make of that without seeing him play with people his own size. He's over 6 foot 4, so you'll have a long wait! The comments about "looks like an adult in a kids' game" are all the indication I need that the kid most likely won't be good enough. Well done on being tall when young. Odd comment when the person in your example isn't even 6 foot. There are plenty of examples of tall, successful footballers (who would have been taller than their peers as a youth).
notnowcato Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Didn't Zlatan turn us down? Could be a case of history repeating itself. What I don't understand is why wouldn't a 15yo want to continue his football education in Rome?
eddie Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 completely misunderstood this thread...thought it was about 'new' Ibra speculation, as in the current Ibra had already been linked with us, and this was renewed speculation about him joining us...! got massively excited for about 30 seconds until I saw it was about a 15 yo kid....ha
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 If he is that good he should be playing at higher age groups, at 15 you are able to play adult football so why isnt he ? He looks good on the ball, but you cant really tell in the youtube videos

He looks good on the ball, but you cant really tell in the youtube videos He does. The encouraging part is that 15 olds who have grown rapidly are usually uncordinated colts whose brain / muscles havent yet worked out how to control those new long limbs. If his ball skillls are good now they'll only improve as he fills out.
Badger Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He does. If his ball skillls are good now they'll only improve as he fills out. Whenever I read of outstanding talents at 15/16 I remember how Paul Rideout was going to be an England sensation after a hattrick v Scotland Scholboys at Wembley c1980. Although he did make a career for himself, he did not fulfill his 'expected' potential after that day.On the other hand Rooney with his strength was comfortable in the Premiership at 17. This lad does look a good prospect, and you'd think he might turn into the mutts nuts in a few years from those highlights. He does seem to have an 'attitude' as well though, (witness his goal celebration at 2.09 where he just pushes a team mate off, and charges into another),no doubt our careful nuturing and the 'upbringing' provided in the Academy will knock him into shape.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 The way he takes out his own teammate celebrating the last goal
Smirking_Saint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 Our excelling 15/16 year olds will play in the under 18s. Maybe its just the way they do it, but he looked head and shoulders above the rest of em (no pun intended) and Id question what he is getting put of the experience
PaulSaint Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 (edited) Rooney made his Everton debut at 16. Edited 8 December, 2014 by PaulSaint wrong number
S-Clarke Posted 8 December, 2014 Posted 8 December, 2014 He's 15. Wont see anything of use from him until around 2020 Did you sleep through Chamberlain, Theo, Bale, Shaw, Chambers, JWP?

Bermuda Saint Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 really interesting link, would be good if it is true! he looks like a freak! in a good way , huge for his age, athletic and skillful. All the building blocks for a big CM. yes it is a gamble, but who better than our SFC at spotting young talented kids, if they feel this kid has more than just size to his game then I will hope he is better than Zaltan (always the optimist). It would make sense for SFC to use their academy fame to attract some of the world best youth players to add to their English youth stables. We can't let Chelsea snap up every youth phenom to keep in reserve just in case they need them. Another around the same age is Hachim Mastour, great skill, but these type of players with no special physical attributes can fail when it gets into the physical side of the prem. But he does fit my criteria, he is an outstanding player for his age group, seems to have that little bit of magic. If he tick the rest of the boxes, ie. hard working, good footballing brain and character then he too could be added to the youth squad. As our ambitions and stature continue to rise, I would hope that the UK and the worlds most promising youth choose us as their academy to get great coaching and chances to prove themselves for SFC. As the world best players continue to go for ridiculous amounts of money that only the biggest clubs in the world can afford, this gamble on the youth of the world maybe the only way for the smaller clubs to have a 30+ million player (before he goes to the big clubs once he proves he is the real thing).
david in sweden Posted 9 December, 2014 Posted 9 December, 2014 He's 15. Wont see anything of use from him until around 2020 if he's THAT good maybe 2-3 years (Sam.G had a debut at 18) but if the lad moved to MU or Chelsea, it'd take him much longer even to get on their bench.

Well done on being tall when young. Ummmmmmm I'd take you up on a bet that he plays at the very highest level almost the entirety of his career. He looks like an adult in a kids game, sure but there's nothing in footage to suggest that his obvious physical/height advantage is the reason he's excelling. If anything, it looks like he's quite highly rated because he genuinely is talented.
