Morgan Schneiderlin Speculation

He'll be here for the rest of the season unless someone (PSG, Arsenal or Man United) throws genuinely silly money (£30m+) our way, and even then we might hold out until the summer.

I've no doubt that he'll be gone in the summer, even if we somehow finish in the top 4, and I'd find it difficult to begrudge him that move - someone will pay him the best part of £100k a week, and we can't come close to matching that. I think I'd prefer him to go to PSG where he can't hurt us further down the line!

We could afford to pay that, at least for one season, if we qualify for the Champions League group stage.

If a big offer comes in January I think the club should take it. Sure we'd be weaker for the last 5 months but it's a position we have depth in: Wanyama/Cork/Alderweireld all very capable in that DM spot. If we wait until the summer then every club president and his dog will know Morgan is 100% leaving and, unless there's a bidding war, he'll go for less than he's worth.

At the very least we should wait and see if we beat Arsenal and Manchester United.

Lately he just looks like a player who wants to be some where else - yes, money and "big club" possibilities are a big part of that, but he just looks stale with Saints these days; playing well still, but I can see the arguments for cashing in now though I expect him to remain for the season.

Morgan does not look as motivated or committed to the Saint's cause as he used to (to my observation). You may believe otherwise by the look of it.

I'm just intrigued to know how you've judged that. How are you measuring motivation and commitment to the Saints cause?

AS I said before he just looks stale and a little like he's going through the motions; still effective, still professional, but not the edge and passion that he used to play with.

Everyone knows he's off in the summer and the footballing world knows he's going to cost £25m minimum.

He's not going to go cheap you muppet.

Is that the same everyone who knew he would go last summer?

Think its more likely he will leave but I think we have seen enough to know the club are trying to build, keep the best players or at very least get a good price.

No, that's his style. You're just taking more notice of his body language after what happened in the summer, it's natural. He's always had a bit of a swagger about his game, and with what happened in the summer it's easy to link that with him still wanting out.

I personally think he's happy enough here, he's at a side pushing beyond their level, he's playing every week, he's a regular at international level. He's got plenty to be happy about right now. He will get his move in the summer, we know it, he knows it, but he's fine for now. The decision to ignore advances in the summer couldn't have worked out any better for both parties, and I'm sure secretly he's a little bit relieved he didn't jump at the first call.

Hope you are right Clarkey, you often are. I've loved watching the 6 - 7 seasons MS has given to SFC and no one would be happier than me if this wasn't his final stint for us.

I've seen nearly all of our matches this season and that's not what I've seen at all, in fact quite the opposite. His last action was to take one for the team against Chelsea. It would be insane to sell him in January.

He'll go. Only a uber happy clappy thinks otherwise. He's been a fantastic player for us and deserves a crack at getting some serious silverware.

Mirror says Arsenal will sign a loan midfielder in Jan before making a move for Morgan in the summer.

Would be amazed if none of the top 4 came in for him, he is exactly what Arsenal need.

I make that the 13th consecutive transfer window Schiderlin to Arsenal has been in the mirror. Must be a record.

That's as maybe but I doubt that they know that. Wenger doesn't like haggling or prolonged transfer sagas, he's already been bitten by us over AOC and Chambers and won't go for a third round

By the Bye, anyone know when was the last time that Arsenal took a player on loan, a real first teamer I mean not some U15

hotshot.

Kim Kallstrom was loaned for some reason.

Ah yes, hurt his back carrying the shopping or something of that ilk and passed the majority of his loan period in the treatment room. Some even said it was a last minute scrambled affair because they failed to secure Morgan...yet again, who knows where the truth lies there really. His agent was apparently putting it about last summer that the deal was done and it was just a case of when he signed on the dotted line...Rrright.
