That's Swansea sliding down the league then if that happens, Bony scored the most goals in the Premier League in 2014.

We slid up the league when we did it ;)

Fair play to Stoke!

STOKE AIMING HIGH:

Stoke City are also keeping an eye on Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri. Assistant manager Mark Bowen explained that they would be interested in speaking to the Swiss international should he become available.

Sources have told Sky Sports News HQ reporter Rob Dorsett, that the Potters have made an inquiry for the player who has scored 19 goals in 51 international games.

He said Gaston wouldn't be suited to the prem so he knows his stuff.

I wish we'd go in for Shaqiri!

Manchester United have just signed Victor Valdes, means Anders Lindegaard is likely to leave. Worth a shout?

He wants to leave Man Utd as he doesn't like sitting on the bench every week. I doubt he'll be keen on swapping their bench for ours.

I wonder if DP is thinking of Jovetic.

Even Jovetic on his day can be a great player but yes, saying Dzeko isnt a similar player to Pellè is odd. But then SRL is the only target man in europe ?!?

Philipp Wollscheid has joined Stoke on loan or something, a target once of ours apprently. Could this mean Toby's tranfer could be happening?

Can't imagine they are linked in any way.

It was more based on the type of player, not the ability. I really rate Jovetic as well.

Lol I didn't think this forum could get any funnier that in the summer when it was suggested Hernandez wasn't good enough for us but later signed for... Real Madrid! Now it seems Dzeko also isn't good enough lol lol lol

It isn't really odd for this forum though is it. The majority on here cking have a clue what they're on about.

Just imagine where we would be if we had Dzeko in place of Pelle and Hernandez playing in the hole instead of Mane...

Hernandez play in the hole when he's never shown any ability or desire to???

That's hilarious pal

No, it's obvious, Dzeko isn't good enough for Saints, clearly. We should be looking to get Messi on loan to help kick start his goal scoring again. FFS.

He will go to Liverpool.

We should make a half hearted bid anyway, just to annoy the scousers and make them add £10Million to their offer.

A week in, makes a change not to be linked with tons of players or ours all linked with moves away in the press.

Kinda boring isn't it ;-)

We are looking to bid £32m for Porto's Juan Quintero according to the Express, apologies if already been mentioned.

Can't see us outlaying that much unless we are selling someone for big money.

Posted

The Express article mentions that 32m is his release clause. I would guess if we do want him, we would try and negotiate that down.

£32m is ridiculous, we've never even sold a player for that amount.

Surely just another player getting their availability for transfer out there and an agent claiming we're in to get them the move they really want a la Rojo?

We could buy someone very good in a position we actually need for that money

of course, they can always try.....but I think that this type of publicity is just a cheap way to show they are ambitious. It doesn't work, but sounds convincing to some of their fans.

Harry Redknapp is an expert at this, he regularly makes noises about bidding for some "world class" player, but then ends up signing someone on a half-season loan from one of his old clubs.

...but of course " the Schneiderlin deal " hasn't come to fruition yet, but if Wenger is desperate enough ...who knows?

Porto are notorious for being hard bargainers. Very very rare to not pay overs for one of their players. I'd rather look elsewhere than deal with them.

Another target that judas has taken with him to spuds along with his black box... spurs apparently in for Ings at £7m, personally don't think they'll sell him for that, would be madness if they went down. We really need to pull our finger out and sign him tbh.

Posted
Could be good if Spurs get Ings, maybe they wouldn't also want Jay Rod?

Why would that be good? Rodriguez was fantastic but relied on running at people and being fairly athletic, there's no chance he'll be as good when he comes back and probably won't sign a new contract. He was easily my favourite striker in years but he's had a career wrecker imo. If we could get 20mill for him still I'd bite Spurs hand off, you can't miss what we haven't had for a year or so anyway.
