Village Saint Posted 4 December, 2014 Share Posted 4 December, 2014 I can't see how anyone could see it any other way. It's how it happened. The actual match report (by a different journo) in the Guardian was even more emphatic. Phil Neville said much the same.
cambsaint Posted 4 December, 2014 Share Posted 4 December, 2014 A great deal better than the London-centric Telegraph, which barely mentioned Saints, or their injuries. And that 'twerp' on MOTD who was screaming for an Arsenal penalty like an old style North-Bank yob.

trousers Posted 4 December, 2014 Share Posted 4 December, 2014 (edited) I'm currently having a debate with an Arsenal supporting 'friend' on Facebook....I posted that a draw would have been a fair result whereas he's adamant that it wouldn't have been because we only came close to drawing because of Forster's saves. My argument is that Fraser has every right to influence the outcome of the games as an in form striker scoring a hat trick does. Just because Fraser made some great saves doesn't mean that a draw wouldn't have been a 'fair' result per se. If 'fairness' was all about matching stats with outcomes then Man City's victory on Sunday could be classed as 'not fair' as we had more possession and a similar number of chances. Anyone else think that a draw vs Arsenal wouldn't have been a fair result? Edited 4 December, 2014 by trousers
VectisSaint Posted 4 December, 2014 Share Posted 4 December, 2014 Yeah, that's more like how I saw last night. What the bt sport commentator was on about I do not know. BT Sport "commentator" was on about Arsenal. Apparently there was no other team playing in the match. He did manage to mention Pompey at least once (reference Ramsey when he played in the FA Cup Final for Cardiff who it would seem managed to lose to them). His sidekick, Michael "ever so interesting" Owen was equally plank-like. I don't get BT Sport (was watching on a stream) and it is unlikely based on the show last night that I ever will. The only thing that could make their show worse would be if Andy Townsend was involved.

Golden Balls Posted 4 December, 2014 Share Posted 4 December, 2014 Ian Darke always commentates on Saints matches and always manages to work in at least one mention of Pompey. Not just Saints games he does that. He does it every game. No other commentator seems to mention any 4th division teams during PL games. Strange,

Because obviously nothing else matters. We should never have got rid of Jonno "Quick" Forte!

Its a pity therefore that the media is populated by complete mongs such as Durham, Ashton, Lawrenson and Merson that are numerically superior to the intelligensia.... LoL - as we all know IQ is distributed on a bell curve, and footballers and ex-footballers are not known for their intellects, so it will ever be thus, unless they change their pundit recruitment policy! Saint Billy Posted 5 December, 2014 Share Posted 5 December, 2014 Anyone else think that a draw vs Arsenal wouldn't have been a fair result? Frankly Trousers, No!. One shot on target!. That doesn't mean to say we performed badly despite the injuries etc, but had it not been for Forster it would have been a bigger scoreline. We were pretty unaffective up front. Got to say though, only one man in their side made the difference. Good almost convincing argument though Trousers.
