Have we used up all our luck?

Gutted to lose tonight, but after a nice run of early fixtures with a relatively injury squad, has our luck run out now? If Toby, Cork and Morgan are out for any period of time, we will become seriously exposed. Really worried looking at the next 7/8 games. Can't help thinking it might have been better to lose some games earlier on. Our phenomenal start has perhaps raised expectations to an unrealistic level.

no luck really. its the rough and tumble of the top end of the premier league

when you look how many injuries arsenal, united etc get...then we do not do so badly

To be fair we had midfielder number one injured for this game, his replacement injured in the first half and then HIS replacement injured in the second half as well. That's damn unlucky in anyones book.

If your expectations were raised to an unrealistic level, then that is nobody's fault but yours.

What good "losing some games early on" would have done god only knows.

Nah !...sh*t happens, what is happening is that we are paying the price for having a good squad, but no quality back-ups. This is typical of why we need extra bodies.

Steven Davis is (thankfully) back, but we are without JWP, Schneiderlin, Cork and Alderweireld, and both Long and Tadic picked up nasty knocks (which a decent ref. would have booked the Arsenal player for).

It's just to battle our way out, until we get better.

well quite.

I'll know that losing some games early on is a good tactic when I see Chelsea trying it out.

You'll get used to Tony, he comes over as a bit of a silly billy to be honest.

There was a lot of talk on here about us making the top 4 recently, people were starting to believe. I'm a realist, I can accept we aren't yet anywhere near that level. All I mean regarding losing a few is that perhaps a lot of our fans would have stayed a bit more grounded.

The club got blasted for champions league talk in the summer when players left

Yet the club/players are talking champions league again.

So not your expectations but some other people's expectations that you've decided they had. Not you, you're clever, just them others.

And you're one of those "realists" who thinks our season would be better if we had lost a few more matches. So what is the "realist's" view? 6 less points than now? 9? 12? What would be the ideal? Do let us know.

I like it when you wheel out this one from your "everyone's a hypocrite" arsenal.

Doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but I like that you still try and use it.

The 3 games I wished we lost were Sunderland and Stoke at home and Hull away. Oh and would have been good if Millwall beat us so I wouldn't have unrealistic expectations of a cup final and could have just shrugged at yesterday's defeat.

Chill. It's not healthy to be getting so worked up this early. I was simply referring to a thread on whether we could finish top 4. From what I recall a lot of replies showed there was a belief we could. Posters like myself were bring labelled negative for suggesting that we weren't going to keep winning every week.Personally, in terms of our progression and chances of finishing there I felt the Man City game was our biggest in years, sadly it proved that we can't mix it with the elite yet. Our points total will level out by the turn of the year.I'd expect a similar finish to last season now, especially as these injuries have come at the wrong time.
