Lowe will have to go if he sacks Jan Portvleit

That it is why he is unlikely to make changes. I think we are now in a spiral from a results point of view. I wouldn't be surprised if going down has already been factored in as a consequence and they will ride out criticism.

Well put it this way, the fixtures computer at Soho Square has already been prepped with SFC in the div one section...

I bet if Portaloo did get the push,Lowe would put the blame on him and continue with his masterplan, but with the other Dutch bloke leading the managerial team.

yeah, or he'll dress it up as though JP asked to go....

"it is with deep regret that Jan has asked to be relieved of his contract. Jan is very supportive of the board's decision to play exciting football and thinks that Rupert Lowe is possibly the most competent and honourable Chairman in the history of football. However, Jan's local super market does not stock Edam cheese and Jan's wife has said she will leave him if she has to use Leerdammer one more time. It is therefore with genuine sorrow that the board has accepted his decision to leave Southampton Football Club......"

The one thing us Saints fans have learned over the years is that NOTHING is Ruperts fault!!! Lowe 'may' sack Portvliet but he will probably make him issue a statement claiming all of the blame and praising Rupert to the hilt in return for instant pay up of his contract!

HaHaHa! Glad that we can still make fun of ourselves and our dismal situation. Is this a case of gallows humour, or a case of if we didn't laugh we'd cry instead?

According to the AGM JP is responsible for picking the teams and the tactics. Wouldn't it make sense for him to take responsibility for the poor results as well?

Depends if he is also resposible for transfers?

I can well envisage him sacking Portvliet and blaming him!

The bloke has more front than Brighton.

More front than Harrods. What a complete c**t the bloke is! Arrogance that knows no bounds. Minimal shareholding and seizes control and likely to relegate us for a second time. Must be revenge as no normal idiot could make such ludicrous decisions!

I think that the old company adage applies here;

Rule number 1

The Company Chairman is always right.

Rule number 2

In the event of the Chairman taking any action that is questionable in the eyes of others, see Rule number 1.

Sorry but a nice bloke he may be,but i dont want nice.Nice wont keep us up.

I want a manager who knows his best eleven.

A manager who can motivate his players and can get the best out of them.

I want a manager(sorry according to Rupert Head Coach),who knows where to play his team in their best positions.

And lastly i want a manager who will drop McGoldrick!!!!

sorry, i didnt make my point clear. I dont think Poortvliet is the right manager. At the start of the season i said on this forum that Pearson was the right person and i said that Lowe should note where Leicester are at the end of the season compared to us.

What i am saying is we will never have the right manager under the idiot Lowe and it feels wrong attacking a decent guy who through the idiot Lowes incompetence shouldnt have been appointed.

Forget every thing except getting the idiot Lowe out as that is our biggest problem.

Perhaps some on this forum should heed your words then because I remember the main objection to Billy Davies possibly being made our manager was he was an arrogant ****!

I think the manager has to take responsibility for the poor results that we arew itnessing under his stewardship.

I also think those involved in the procurement and scouting of players have to take responsibility for the obvious failings they have presided over.

And of course I think the CEO/PLC Chairman has to take overall responsibility for employing Jan (and his merry men) and for implementing this Revolutionary Coaching Set Up which is failing miserably.

This is more than the appointment of a poor manager and I fail to see how even the most rabid Lowe supporter could think otherwise.

Lowe is intrinsically tangled in with the Poortvliet appointment. He proactively sought out the job of CEO/Chairman for himself removing the existing incumbents, he removed Pearson to enable Jan to come in, he established the strategy and whichever way you look at it, nailed his colours firmly to this mast.

If Poortvliet goes, then so does Lowe.

(and at that point I would somehow like to see his small shareholding taken off of him, so we can be rid of such a divisive influence once and for all.)

If we can't afford Pearson, how the hell can we afford GH?

Here's how...

SFC simply becomes a 'finishing school' for Hoddles Accademy....so, we don't actually have to employ Hoddle directly, SFC simply becomes an outsourced division of his business that Hoddle manages.

Would be a somewhat off-the-wall arrangement but it would fit with both company's business model, one would venture.
