Fraser Forster

well Les would wave his magic wand and do so , so why not a goal keeping coach? Forster should dominate a penalty area with his height and reach. it seems to me that he has lost his confidence completely

You're obsessed with Les Reed pal, it's about the fifth time you've mentioned him today. For a man of your age it's not healthy.

But then you could apply the same measure to Long,Tadic,Mané,Gardos and even Pelle. We sold players for more than they were worth we bought other players for more than they're worth.....football economics eh.
fair comment but if you get far more than your player is worth it is then bad economics to spend 12m on a forward who never has had a record for scoring goals. We had sold our goalscoring players and so it is common sense to buy a proven scorer who has some PL experience. I love Longs endeavor but his lack of goal scoring is a major problem. I am surprised though that last night he was not able to cause a L1 defence problems

Considering you have mentioned him countless times since the summer being our saviour and the messiah, trust in Sir Les etc I thought I would give you a chance to carry on bigging him up.

there was another instance that he did not come out and we had to clear for a corner. that didnt amount to anything but it did look a bit wooly

In the first half, during those run of corners? Completely disagree. I've been one of his biggest critics over recent weeks but those were excellent corners and if he'd come out that far he risked getting left in no mans land.

HUGE improvement today from Forster. Very impressed, much more like what I was expecting from him.

He had an OK game, however he was rooted to the spot when their goal went in - didn't even dive and I would have thought he could see the ball come in. Is this due to his size and not being able to get down to the ground quick enough?

You are joking? You think he could have saved that header? It's was right in the corner and very low. Harsh.

Rooted to his line again today. Crosses to far post he so vulnerable. You are correct in your summary ...

He could have thrown a pretty starfish shape if that would have made you happy. Same outcome though.

I think it might be due to the fact the shot was so well placed that Billy Whizz wouldn't have got close.

he is a young keeper who is still learning

put up with his mistakes cos he is a good keeper, who will become a great keeper

plus he is our keeper,so get behind him,ffs

Why do that when we can analyse his every move and put every single goal we concede down as one we he should have done better on?

And he dint make mistakes today. FFS some people are incapable of not finding fault and supporting the players

He has never posted anything positive. Complete tosser who just slags off players and the manager. Boring cvnt

I do wonder how some of the weirdos on here would have coped if mongboards were about in the 90s when we were sh*te right through to March and away games we'd be lucky to have a shot at goal let alone get a point.

would have to agree. there were times in the 90s when we are unbearable with MLT popping up and winning us points. we had some very bad players then, too

aye would've been amusing to see the mild irritation directed towards Branfoot after we got a hiding with Le Tissier on the bench.

No idea why anyone would suggest the keeper should of saved the goal today, but at the same time I do think he has struggled since the Villa game with his decision making in terms of when to come and when not.

He has been rather rooted to his line at times including today, although he was better in this game coming and punching on two occasions and hopefully is gradually getting his confidence back. When he does we will have a real keeper on our hands.

Absolutely no chance with the goal. Not sure what Gardos was doing or who he was meant to be marking. Wanyama perhaps could have done better but it was powerful jump by Dann and he's absolutely massive.

Decent game by Forster, though there were moments in the first half where he certainly hesitated, especially from open play. It helped somewhat that most Palace balls came in from the byline - think Forster struggles more with the earlier cross from deeper positions.

Frankly, after seeing the opposing goalkeeper score against us last year, I now consider our goalkeeper to have had an off day every time he does not score.

guys. todays goal was clearly forsters fault. he should've positioned himself better ;)

And he should have told whoever arranges these things to knock off the shît weather, difficult day for keepers really, probably why Hart missed the cross for Albion's late goal and Toby got a free header. All that said I think we may well need to look at Victor's ability at corners when handing out the marking roles, he lost RvP a few weeks back and he lost Dann yesterday.

The obvious needs are a keeper and a striker. Petr Cech would be great, but Chelsea won’t let him go, so perhaps we should could go back to Southampton for Fraser Forster. Up front, Wilfried Bony for sure, and there’s a lot of talk about Gonzalo Higuaín. We need a central midfielder too. Kevin De Bruyne looks good but perhaps we could tempt James Milner from down the road. Priorities are getting some confidence – and a little guile wouldn’t go amiss, too. Steph Jones

I did read that and think "oh ffs, why don't you just do one!"

The thing that impresses me about Forster is that, coming from Celtic, he is used to long periods of inactivity before being asked to do anything. That's perfect for the way we play at the moment and is a definite upgrade on Boruc (who is an excellent shotstopper but doesn't have the concentration.

The Villa game knocked him though and cost us the RvP goal at least. Still excellent though!
