ashleyb5443 Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 I just saw saints post that there's tickets left for today's game. Surprised this one isn't sold out. You originally had to have a customer number with purchase history but now it's on general sale. Really annoying as I had a lot of difficulty trying to get tickets for friends who are non st holders. This surely answers the question and rumors about expansion at st marys.
Saint-Fred Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 Inherently people are lazy so the more difficult you make getting tickets the less you sale. IMO if they were on general sale with no restrictions from day one it would have sold out in a couple of days. My son isn't coming as I bought his tickets on my season ticket and so wasn't able get a ticket near me. Now they are on general sale he'd be miles from me so isn't going to bother. Perhaps a lesson for the club here?
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 (edited) The problem is that tickets have been on restricted sale for too long and once they reached general sale there was not enough time for people to change their plans. My lot would have taken another couple of adult+child tickets if they could. Edited 30 November, 2014 by Whitey Grandad
saint lard Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 Tried initially to get tickets for my son and I in the family section like we always do together. However because he didn't have a customer number that had been used in previous purchases, unlike me,he couldn't get a ticket. I've now registered him and he has a number now,but too late as he has no purchase history attached to it. So we thought bugger it,they don't want our money we will watch it together on the tellybox. We usually spend a substantial amount on matchdays, club shop, food and drink and so on. Money well saved me thinks. Mowgli Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 It's pretty close to sell out but singles are harder to get rid of. Was the same at the Dell and would be the same even if capacity was 50k.
Mattio Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 It's on telly less than a month from Xmas, what do you expect?
nta786 Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 The club told me this game wouldn't go on general sale to prevent neutrals from coming in. Then, they put them up on general sale so late, many have already made plans.

On a loosely related note, is Itchen block 1,2,3 standing?
ashleyb5443 Posted 2 December, 2014 Author Share Posted 2 December, 2014 The club had about 1000/2000 spare seats on sun. £40 a ticket, that's a lot of cash. It could have paid for osvaldo to sit on our bench for 2 weeks. Itchen blocks, standing towards the back usually.

To be fair, if Man City had sold out the full away allocation, then Sunday would have been a sell out. Poor atmosphere though and lots of tourist types. Even saw a few half and half scarves being worn!
Alwightmush Posted 2 December, 2014 Share Posted 2 December, 2014 When did you last go to football?! I don't really notice them from where I sit and thought it was quite mixed in terms of standing/sitting. My mate is looking to stand which is why I asked! Other option is Northam but more fun when you can see who you're taunting

Whitey Grandad Posted 2 December, 2014 Share Posted 2 December, 2014 Dont know who, but as to the why, because people buy them. There was a seller in Britannia Road after the game with a big pile of them still unsold. The only thing you could do with them was buy two and cut them in halves. waylander Posted 2 December, 2014 Share Posted 2 December, 2014 There were a lot of empty seats where I was (Block 15). I had a couple of mates who wanted to go, but have no customer numbers as I've previously bought their tickets. Pretty dim of the club IMHO. People selling them by the Alfred/railway bridge said these are the result of us "being in the big time". Their words not mine. I cannot see any justification for anyone ever buying a half and half unless you are a complete plastic.
