The Cat Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 I think sunderland have been excellent They are defending superbly. Chelsea can't get any width and from what I've seen in the second half have been reduced to playing it through the middle where Sunderland just keep blocking any path through. Saint_Tony Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 The other sides are creeping up on us in the table. As well as we've done, tomorrow is our biggest game in years. We need to get a positive result and make a statement that we are serious top 4 contenders.

The Cat Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 Paul Merson will be saying how he can't believe Chelsea are top of the league after that result. They never once looked like scoring in the second half.
Batman Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 I wonder (like with us) if The media will use this draw as an example of Chelsea fading?
Chewy Posted 29 November, 2014 Author Share Posted 29 November, 2014 I think sunderland have been excellent They've defended very well ... Just as villa did against us. Just goes to show if a team is organised and disciplined you can get a draw against anyone, but it's rarely enough over a season. Still think they'll struggle this year. And just as I don't think today means chelsea arent the best team in the league, I don't think Monday at villa shows our form is dropping significantly. Can't wait for tomorrow, should be a cracking game.

Saint_Tony Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 Oh the melodrama. Let's go into full panic mode if we don' get 3 points. PANIC PANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC I won't be in panic mode. Just that I'd prefer a top 4 finish, something to remember. If we get a result tomorrow, it becomes a realistic possibility. I feel defeat will send us on our way back down to 7th/8th.Whilst we played well last season, finishing 8th was a waste of time. It's a perfectly acceptable position, but let's try and make performances and results count for something this season.

Pancake Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 Would love us to put a cheeky bid in for Wickham in Jan. I know he didn't score today, but I'm always impressed with his work off the ball, making space and drawing defenders. Think he could work in our system in place of Pelle as and when needed, but also work with him too.
Lighthouse Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 (edited) Would love us to put a cheeky bid in for Wickham in Jan. I know he didn't score today, but I'm always impressed with his work off the ball, making space and drawing defenders. Think he could work in our system in place of Pelle as and when needed, but also work with him too. I think Shane Long has got the 'overpriced and doesn't score very often' position well and truly covered. Apart from 4 goals at the end of last season his career is a barren wasteland of goal scoring. Edited 29 November, 2014 by Lighthouse
twiglet Posted 29 November, 2014 Share Posted 29 November, 2014 Not seen the now obligatory thread, so thought I'd put it up this week. Peoples thoughts and preferences? West brom v arsenal want home win, predict away win Burnley v villa want away win, predict the same Liverpool v Stoke want a draw, predict the same Man U v hull want a draw, predict home win Qpr v Leicester want away win, predict home win Swansea v palace want draw, predict home win West Ham v Newcastle want away draw, predict home win Sunderland v Chelsea want home win, predict away win Spurs v everton want away win, predict draw Went up to St Andrews today to watch a cracker of a game. Blues 1 up at half time, Forest levelled and Blues got a late penalty given by the third official who was standing in the dugout Lol. Last 5 minutes was mayhem. Danny Fox played well, but was taken off for some reason. Tom Ince got booked while he was warming up with Blackstock, because he kicked the ball away so blues couldn't take a quick throw in. Blackstock kicked it away and ref couldn't work out who did it, so booked the one he thought.

ART Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 Only 10 minutes but take a look at how Spurs are playing. It's Saints 1 year ago. And their supporters are really loud and ours were poor today.

The Cat Posted 30 November, 2014 Share Posted 30 November, 2014 Too many plastics today. Heard in the Chapel: "What I can't understand is why Gerrard isn't playing for them" The annoying bloke 2 rows behind me was imploring Shane Long to get down the wing 40 minutes into the game.
