lol

Was going to say away win because I really don't like Sam, then remembered how well Newcastle are doing. While I'm hoping our competition will be Man U and arsenal, I think it might end up being Newcastle and swansea.

Any reason you don't want Spurs v Everton to be a draw or Stoke to beat Liverpool? Or Hull to beat Man Utd?

Honestly? Nothing more than a general dislike for each of the three teams. Want to see mopo fail and I'm not too worried about everton; their defence will cost them enough points this season IMHO. Can't stand Bruce, one of those managers that always bangs on about referees. Plus their owners attempts at rebranding them as tigers is hideous. Again, IMHO. As for Stoke, I know their football is better than it was under pulis but they're still an ugly side, and the city is a complete dump.

Watching the Man U vs Hull game. Although Hull are losing I like what Steve Bruce did in taking Ben Arfa off. Good manager Bruce, have a lot of time for him. Ben Arfa was being lazy and not putting in a shift so he punished him.

The commentator was then going on about how Ben Arfa is still holding on hope for a move to a "big" club. This is everything that is wrong with football IMO. Ben Arfa needs to realise that he has to put in maximum effort and not just ponce around until a big club comes knocking. Good on Bruce for not pandering to this premadonna and dealing with him appropriately.

Hull look absolutely dire though, Bruce can do whatever he likes really, won't make much difference Aluko looks poor as well. They're far worse than I remember and on the form that they're showing today they won't be much above the drop zone.

Its nice having results go your way and taking some pressure off, Personally 7th or 6th is where we will end up, however should Spurs Everton West Ham Newcastle and Swansea all fail to win (obviously there not all going to win) and a win or draw for us puts Saints in a great postion to finish 4th-6th.

Still i will take 7th and a cup final.

Results not gone oue way today - adds a little bit of pressure for tomorrow if they want to keep the gap

At least there is still a gap and the worst we can be is 3rd with 5 points ahead of 5th at the end of the weekend.

Last season it was far ore bunched and when we lost at Arsenal instead of being top we went down to about 4th I think.

Not great results for us but if we win tomorrow it doesn't matter.

The top sides will win many games from here on in. Most weekends results won't "go our way".

To stay anywhere near top 4 you have to win most weeks as we have so far but thats over less than a third of the season, we need to keep up this form for the whole season to have a chance.

Of course, its obvious, but to finish top 4 is going to need a perfect season from us, and reality is any finish above 7th would be utterly brilliant for a club of our size.

Shame about today with just one goal in the Arsenal and Liverpool games. Another reminder that luck plays a big part. We are a better team than the ones that have run all the 'big' clubs very close so we should remain optimistic as long as we don't lose more players to injuries. Having Steven Davis and JWP both out is good example of luck being against us, and we'll see tomorrow if Davis is fit. Getting JWP and Sam Gallagher back this month would be a great step forward and would have us in good shape for the Xmas games.

I watched the 2nd half of Liverpool vs Stoke. Was quite open with both sides having good chances and I wasn't surprised when Liverpool scored. They still looked quite dodgy at the back, even without Lovren.
