Saint_Tony Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Forget those stats, only us scoring more goals than City today will matter. It's time for us to make a statement and show we are serious top 4 contenders. Never been so nervous, this is our biggest game in years. Last season we were knocking on the door, now it's time to properly gatecrash the party. COYR!
Batman Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 with that profit and the £80m TV money RK surely has some money to spend in jan this is the best chance we will have had in 11 years to get into europe
ericofarabia Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Licking my lips at the thought of Big Vic crunching Toure in the 1st tackle of the game and watching the wuss hide from Vic for the rest of the match.
Yuki Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Watching with the Kenyan Saints in Nairobi today. We are the Saints. Come on players, fans, staff and executives!
SaintRobbie Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Draw would be good. Win outstanding. Bit worried if Davies isn't playing though. W-P is our only cover man in that position. Perhaps Harry Reid will step up to the plate? I think this is a key game. Our individual performances against Villa on Monday were the worst I have seen this season. A good result will keep us firing. This week and next may determine our Europe place at the end of the season.... that and winning the FA Cup
alehouseboys Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Licking my lips at the thought of Big Vic crunching Toure in the 1st tackle of the game and watching the wuss hide from Vic for the rest of the match. They'll also be aware Big Vic is walking a tightrope, one more booking and suspension.
ericofarabia Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 They'll also be aware Big Vic is walking a tightrope, one more booking and suspension. Damn - hadn't realised that. Yaya in particular is a cheating diver and goes to ground way too easily for a big man. Virtually a 100% chance that Morgan will pick up a yellow today with the amount of tackles he puts in, can't afford to lose both him and Vic for the same match. Who is the ref today?
Plastic Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 We now have friends coming over unexpectedly who we've not seen for about a year. Bloody hell. Is it rude to tell them I need to watch the footie?
the_emu Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 I''ve got a sneaking suspicion if Davis isn't fit to start Reed could get a debut
Goatboy Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Watching with the Kenyan Saints in Nairobi today. We are the Saints. Come on players, fans, staff and executives! What's the weather like Yuki?

S-Clarke Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Want to go so bad, but seriously hurt my foot last night (not broken, but torn mid-foot tendon) and I can't walk on my right side at all (shame, as I'm a right footed Beckham as well) Not sure how I'm going to make up to row NN...but I may dose myself up with painkillers and try...(stupidly..)
angelman Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 As you say, on TV linked with the cost of tickets. TV is a poor substitute for being at the game IMO. Cost of ticket vs cost of subscription to Sky? Personally happier to have spent £700 on a ST than Sky (esp when.......)
Patrick Bateman Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 We now have friends coming over unexpectedly who we've not seen for about a year. Bloody hell. Is it rude to tell them I need to watch the footie? It's rude to come over when there is a Saints match on, tell them not to bother.
the_emu Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Or even make his 6th appearance Correction... starting debut

I reckon if you ask nicely someone near the front would swap with you. Maybe post your block on here and see of anyone offers.
Batman Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Would you go with mane or long? Shane for me
smarmy Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Long right, Tadic left, Mane sub, for me. Think Mane prob a more dangerous player than Long, but that seems more balanced. Anyway, COME ON! First home game a against a "big" team for me since we came up apart from Chelsea in 12/13.
captainchris Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Bring cork in and go back to midfield 3. Drop one of mane or long. Use other as an impact sub. 100% correct. We have to control midfield last game three forwards did not work and it definately won't work today. What does Koeman have against Cork who is a very fine player and somewhat better than the 'famous' JWP.....
Cabrone Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Really looking forward to this one, hope it's a good tear up. Fans need to play their part and make a lot of noise, shouldn't be difficult as if you can't get up for this game then there's something wrong with you. 3-2 to Saints and the Chelsea gap reduced back down to 4 points.
pap Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Just arrived in Southampton. Very foggy on the way down. Apt. Driving into the unknown

Unfortunately sunday lunchtimes seem to have poor atmosphere, people with hangovers maybe? I actively avoid going out the night before a match for that exact reason.

Smirking_Saint Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 So today is when our season really starts, we have done all the prep work and steadied a ship that to many seemed destined to falter at the start of the season. But now the true tests start, and we will see where we are in relation to the big boys. COYR
Bad Wolf Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 So today is when our season really starts, we have done all the prep work and steadied a ship that to many seemed destined to falter at the start of the season. But now the true tests start, and we will see where we are in relation to the big boys. COYR It started in August. If we lose today or even lose the next 3 it isn't gonna ruin our season, as long as we can keep the confidence high and keep playing the way we do. Arsenal have made a living out of getting into top 4 and not beating the big boys. Cork needs to start today if Davis isn't fit. As others have said, midfield 3 of Wanyama, Schneiderlin and Cork with Tadic and Long on either wing. Mane as an impact sub.

ART Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Disgraceful. Jack Cork is not involve at all. Grrrr!!!

We arent arsenal, we need to keep the confidence up
richie Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Davis in! no cork in the squad. Two central defenders though.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Disgraceful. Jack Cork is not involve at all. Grrrr!!! May have a knock. What is it that managers don't see that the fans do, or vice versa with Jack?
NickG Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Davis in! Great first choice 11.....no excuses!
Saint_Tony Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Both sides near enough full strength. Should be a good game. No excuses, we need to get at least a point today
Avenue Saint Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 no cork in the squad. Two central defenders though. Bench is weak. Hopefully with Boruc, Cork, Jwp and Jrod back will be stronger. Need to add quality to squad really. Cant expect to have no injuries throughout season
benjii Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Cork must have a late knock to not even be on the bench. Two up front for City - will that make it easier to cut off the supply to Aguero at source? Probably.
KingdomCome Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Our strongest 11 imho. Should be able to make a decent fist of it.
Smirking_Saint Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 May have a knock. What is it that managers don't see that the fans do, or vice versa with Jack? He isnt as good as Morgan, Wanyama and Davis, its simple really
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Our strongest 11 imho. Should be able to make a decent fist of it. Yup.
Smirking_Saint Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Proof again that our overall 'squad' is still pretty weak. Desperately need another striker and wide man
Batman Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Proof again that our overall 'squad' is still pretty weak. Desperately need another striker and wide man If we get even Europa league We will need 4-5 more players to what we have today. Let alone replacing anyone who leaves Obviously our academy will provide 1 or 2 of those But we need another GK, wide player, RB and striker (next season) at least As for today, I would take a draw where we play well
ART Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 If weither Mané or Tadic get injured I'd prefer they bring on Target and move Bertrand up onto the wing than bring on Long
Lorne Malvo Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 If weither Mané or Tadic get injured I'd prefer they bring on Target and move Bertrand up onto the wing than bring on Long Never try to become a Football Manager. x
Dalek2003 Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 A win = outstanding result, a draw excellent, a narrow defeat OK, a heavy defeat disappoinitng
Smirking_Saint Posted 30 November, 2014 Posted 30 November, 2014 Never try to become a Football Manager. x Tbf to the bat**** mental one, Bertrands played there before
