John Boy Saint Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 Ramirez really is a fool. He ruined that game for Hull. he really should have known Vertongen is a spawny slime ball and resisted the urge.......... But there is absolutely nothing to like about Sours. for_heaven's_Saint Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 Tbf Hull were **** for about 70 minutes there. If Spurs hasn't won it would have been ridiculous.

david in sweden Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 he really should have known Vertongen is a spawny slime ball and resisted the urge.......... But there is absolutely nothing to like about Sours. I thought the tackle that brought him down was pretty cynical, (and not punished either).....but he was silly to retaliate, and Vertonghen quickly went down like a lorryload of bricks. Still if they manage to get an opponent sent off in every game, then they probably can beat 10 mean.
hasper57saint Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 So a smack on the arse equals a sending off but a two footed clear of the ground studs showing tackle is not? Lino got it completely wrong but the Spuds get lucky yet again.
Toadhall Saint Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 Can't believe the Liverpool fans are pundits. Just lost 3-1 where you drew 3-3 a few months ago, and you're moaning about a lack of strikers. How can they be so blind? Lovren and Skrtel aren't bad CBs, nor is Sakho. You can't just look at CBs elsewhere and think they'll come in and solve the problem without looking at their tactics. Saints had a brilliant defensive midfield. Morgan, Cork, Wanyama and Davis get the ball back as well as any team, and keep is as well as any. We are a team, and kept that from last season, despite so many being baffled by our success. Settling in lots of new signings well involves: Knowing where they're playing and letting them play there Having a strong set of leaders who'll perform and help new players settle in Without Fonte and Schneiderlin I'm sure it would have taken ages, but at least we knew Pelle, Tadic, Toby, Bertrand would play, and where they'd play. Spurs and Liverpool made signing after signing with no regard for team, just generic panic at CL fixtures. There's never any need. If you qualify for Europe, improve the 1st team with one of 2, bring 2 or 3 kids through to increase squad size then see how it's going in January. Otherwise you're sacrificing everything that got you there in the first place. If Liverpool had had any sense they'd have avoided Ballotelli, made do with Lambert while Sturridge was out, avoided Markovic not knowing where he'd play, and go for Schneiderlina and Clyne. But they don't have the sense. For me the best CMs in the league right now are Matic, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Ramires followed by a whole bunch in erratic form, out of position or slighly lesser ability. Like. ? A more holistic approach is what is required. When you have consistency through out the club over the playing style you then just need to concentrate on putting the players in that suite the style. Liverpool and Tottenham both seem to have lost their style of play - Liverpool to accommodate Steve g and Tottenham because of MP.

Smirking_Saint Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 Been watching MOTD2, the small highlights that the BBC showed of the spurs game got me thinking that Poch has, by the looks of things, abandoned the way he played under is. They seem to play a much quicker counter attack, with less possession, barely any high press and appear to attempt to play offsides. I dont really harbour any real hatred to the man, in fact, I almost wanted to see him do ok. But it just strikes me as a silly move from both Poch and Levy. Effectively - Poch has moved from a comfortable position with little pressure to manage a team of prima donnas who are none of his own purchases and that seemingly do not fit with his own philosophies. And that compounded by the fact that their scouting department is non existant and working under the poison dwarf. Levy has signed a manager that doesnt fit in with the players he has at the club, despite his obvious talents as a coach. Failed (on the surface) to back him at any great deal in the transfer market and as always, puts his managers under pressure. Im so glad we have the model we have, attenpting to keep consistant in our philosophy and recruitment.

Im so glad we have the model we have, attenpting to keep consistant in our philosophy and recruitment. I watched the game, they haven't changed the system really but as they don't have the players to operate it in it's entirety (or can't) then they do what they can with what they have. Total domination second half but then Hull were down to 10, not that Gaston had any great effect on the game anyway but it's a body less and they took off Ben Arfa to compensate I suppose. Spurs problem is defensive errors and losing the ball in midfield, Dembelé was total junk there and once he'd been replaced they got a whole lot better. Fortunately they have Erikson and he's getting them out of a few tricky situations. Lamela is getting better though.

Window Cleaner Posted 24 November, 2014 Share Posted 24 November, 2014 Was Fazio not one of his signings? He was certainly one to watch in that game Not to mention Dier who it must be said started the season fairly well but was absolutely atrocious at RB yesterday, even Chiriches was better and he's no right back. Didn't compete with Johnson at LB for Liverpool in the uselessness stakes though.
