S-Clarke Posted 22 November, 2014 Share Posted 22 November, 2014 Same old arsenal. Pass, pass, pass, backwards, sideways, pass, pass, sideways, backwards. Never actually doing anything penetrative with the ball. All their own making.

They both need wins A spurs loss with MP blaming the size of the pitch, and a Liverpool loss with another Lovren howler would be ideal. To be honest, both tricky away's for them. Won't be a nailed 3 points by any means.

tpbury Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 Every time I see Chelsea, they're basically giving the other team an anal probe, wandering into the box and crossing it just outside the 6 yard box. Difficult to not score, Terry aside.
david in sweden Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 As if playing at home against 10 men wasn't advantage enough ....... ......Chelsea are sure to win the title with decisions like the one for their first goal. Costa was clearly offside when the ball was played to him, and the lino' didn't flag it.
saintant Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 For any team from Man Utd (4th) or below to get 70 points this season they will need to get 51 points or more from their remaining 26 matches - to put that into context that's the equivalent of 17 wins out of 26 games. I am sure there are teams well capable of that but it sounds quite a tall order particularly as none of the sides in question seem to be firing on all cylinders. That could change of course and one or more of them might go on a winning streak. If we can beat Villa tomorrow we'll have 28 points so to get 70 we'll need to amass another 42 points from 26 games - that sounds achievable provided we steer clear of too many injuries/suspensions to key players. A top four spot could certainly be on the cards but we can't afford to take our foot off the gas!

Tomkins going down holding his face after being pushed on the shoulder was the worst of the lot. Total embarrassment to English football. The FA must take retrospective action against that sort of thing.

Professor Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 So much diving and play acting shown on MOTD. The depths to which football has sunk in relation to diving was highlighted after the Wilshire headbut on Fellani. The MOTD commentator said that if Fellani had 'gone down' then Wiltshire could have been sent off. The BBC should be more responsible that allow their commentators to effectively condone cheating. Another cheating incident in that game was Shaw pushing an Arsenal player in the penalty area to stop the attacker getting to the ball. A clear foul and therefore a penalty, but no coverage of the incident by MOTD in the post-match analysis.
adrian lord Posted 23 November, 2014 Share Posted 23 November, 2014 This season is certainly a golden opportunity to finish top 4. All the competition, aside from Chelsea, have serious imbalances and deficiencies that will not be remedied until it is too late for this campaign. We must hold form and concentration through the dark winter months, and have a kind injury list. Next season Man U will be a force to be reckoned with after the summer window again. Arsenal won't be again unless they dispense with Wenger.
