richard Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 (edited) There's no Southampton game until Monday. What results do we want in the other games? Saturday Chelsea V West Brom Away win - Keep the dream alive! Everton V West Ham Home win - Make some distance between us and the pack. Leicester V Sunderland Home win - just a sympathy vote. Man City V Swansea Draw - again, some distance from the pack. Newcastle V QPR Home win - result not relevant but prefer Pardew to HR. Stoke V Burnley Away win - sympathy vote and pack distance. Arsenal V Man Utd Draw - possibly both our direct competition for that fourth spot! This is a weird thing to have to write. Sunday Crystal Palace V Liverpool Home win. Hull V Tottenham Home win, 5 or 6 - 0. Edited 22 November, 2014 by richard
Jonnyboy Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 Doesn't really matter, come Monday we'll still be 2nd whatever happens *pinchme
Charlie Wayman Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 We play one match at a time and concentrate on our own results. Ignore the others, if we get enough points we'll win it.
The Saint Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 Johnny and Charlie.... Come on, live a little.... Dream a little... You're right of course, but the thought of other results going our way gets the juices flowing.... Doesn't it....?
Saint_clark Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 It would be nice going into mondays game knowing that we haven't been caught up, if we were to get the 3 points then it would be like they are bonus points.
whelk Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 People who aren't interested in other team's result are odd. Suppose they never look at the table either and just enjoy their day out at the game every fortnight. Want Everton and City to lose btw. Swansea and West Ham are not threats IMO

Agree for the most part though I would take an Everton v West Ham draw - West Ham are up with us but I would fully expect Everton to be there or thereabouts too by the time May rolls around. Also as above, find it odd when people say they don't look out for other results! Prefer our team to be focused on the task at hand but, as fans, of course we look at the permeations of results just to see how much we can dream or, often, how much we should be worried!

Ignore the others, if we get enough points we'll win it. No, No. No. No. It does matter!!!!!! To close the gap above and to widen the gaps below is not just down to our results but depends on the results of the others. Getting 'enough' points won't work because we don't know how many is enough. We need rivals to get less than us.
Saxon Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 We play one match at a time and concentrate on our own results. Ignore the others, if we get enough points we'll win it. I'm trying my best to go with this at the end of the day, regardless of the other results, we need to win games. So we just need to keep our heads down and stay focused. Always getting behind the team, regardless of the situation. We're heading into the crunch, the last 8 games before the halfway point. Lets f*ckin do this

Bearsy Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 Oh, we bears do not lightly forget. At least, we do - some things - appointments, and people's birthdays, and letters to post, and all that - but not an absolutely bally insult like the above! Edit: wodehouse yo
richard Posted 22 November, 2014 Author Posted 22 November, 2014 Agree that City vs Swansea is the best 3.00 kick-off. Arsenal vs United is the big one though obviously.
Avenue Saint Posted 22 November, 2014 Posted 22 November, 2014 Have a feeling 4th place will come down to us or Man U
