Koeman chasing Bruno Martins Indi

Didn't he move there from Feyenoord in the Summer? Surely he won't be looking to move on so soon...

Yes he's only been there since just after the World Cup so it would be odd for him to consider moving so soon.

However RonKo managed him last year at Feyenoord so he knows him well, and he looked a pretty powerful left sided centre back at the World Cup.

Lets wait and see what unfolds...

Can't see that at all, not sure how he'd fit into our side. Unless we don't thin we'll be able to hold on to Alderweireld, but we're a long way off that point at the moment anyway.

CB/LB, more of a competition for Bertrand than Toby. Maybe if Maya is not considered long term then it makes some sense. Perhaps Ron is thinking of going to 3 at the back?

Martins Indi is certainly not fast enough to be a left back, so this would be scouting on the possibility of LCB only I would say.

Odd then that he is described thus: "Mainly a central defender, he can also play as a left back." Point is that he tends to be left sided, whereas Toby is more generally right-sided, except for Saints. The connections is obvious anyway from Feyenoord, perhaps Ron is just strengthening to give us more options.

Yes it is odd, as while he is a very powerful defender (and certainly not a slow coach), he is not rapid enough to play as a left back in the sense that we like our full backs to play. He is nowhere is fast as Nat or Ryan nor does he have their attacking nouse either.

I think if he played up against Jefferson Montero, then he would be roasted in a similar manner as Chambers was last week I would suggest.

However as a CB option on the left side, then he is more than decent.

I don't think there is any truth to this article.

The current left footed central defender of Feyenoord (Terence Kongolo) is much better and someone Koeman knows very good as well. He just needs a bit more experience and an extra 10kg to be a superstar. He's better on the ball, taller and quicker than Martins Indi.

2014/2015 Feyenoord 10 0 Eredivisie

2013/2014 Feyenoord 17 0 Eredivisie

2012/2013 Feyenoord 5 0 Eredivisie

2011/2012 Feyenoord 1 0 Eredivisie

2014/2015 Feyenoord 2 0 UEFA Champions League

2014/2015 Feyenoord 5 0 UEFA Europa League

2012/2013 Feyenoord 1 0 UEFA Champions League

Netherlands: 2 caps

Sounds ideal.

all this conjecture about CB /LB and who's first choice?.

Of course, it's fine if everyone's on form and fit... but just now Jay Rod ( Pelle's alternative ?) is still out. JWP will be out another 1-2 months, Steven Davis was injured last weekend... as was Schneiderlin.

Mane will be away ..3 weeks in January for African Cup of Nations... and possibly Wanyama, too (if Kenya qualify). WE may end up playing people out of position just to be able to field a good side.

It goes to show you can never have enough talent available, if we qualify for a Euro. competition, we need all the back-up we can get (injuries, suspensions etc,) and a chance for them to " play themselves in".

If either of the above-mentioned (or anyone else ) comes it can only give us extra cover.
