Rodriguez for man city

Batman

Recommended Posts

Just a few mins ago, on the RK Page on facebook, where someone posted about City going to offer £20m for J Rod, this appeared in the comments from him:

 #saints !!!!

https://www.facebook.com/ronaldkoemansfc/posts/1379415922364010

Cue lots of "thats not his real account" etc etc. But take a look before you dismiss it.

That page is run by a 22 year old. This is Ronald Koeman's official facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/RonaldKoeman.Official

Or maybe I've missed the point? (quite possible)

He had 3 operations on his knee, the original doctor made a mess of the first procedure. He has also had a clear out of his knee since then. I'll be surprised if he's the same player.

This a libellous remark. Please be careful what you write. Do you have the facts to substantiate your claim

Why would anyone want him at this moment in time? He had a set back, he's not been seen for nearly a year. Why would you pay anything until you've seen him back playing and scoring? It would be stupid for the buying club to do that, and it would be incredibly dim for Jay as well. He could easily end up like Scott Sinclair or Jack Rodwell without any trouble.

You wouldn't want him. End of. Anyone who says otherwise is talking shi'ite. Man City, Spurs etc will not be taking a punt on him this window or next. I'd also be surprised if we've offered him a substantial deal based on 8 months out and a couple of dodgy operations. If we have, then he should grab it with both hands (there'll be nothing to stop him moving in the future anyway should his career continue upwards)

Does anyone know which melt it is thst runs the TalkSaints twitter account? Another kid I think. Always stealing other peoples photos and tweets and then posting any news hours after it breaks.

For a while I thought it was MLG as has that style, but it never mentions FM so probably not him.

Not Saint Armstrong is it?

Its a tearful face followed by #saints!!!. It needs a better person than me to give an expert interpretation of that message. I am too biased, as well as too old

It's not a tearful face, it's a crying with laughter face and then it's followed by #saints. Probably meaning/showing his allegiance (whatever that's worth in football)

Controversial maybe, but I think I would have sold back in the Summer if the offer was right. His rehab and wages must be costing a pretty penny, and there's no guarente he will

A. Even play again and

B. Be the player he was

I think letting someone else take a punt on him would have been my choice. Sure if he comes good again (which I hope he does wherever he plays) then yes we could have lost a good player, but we are talking about Jay Rodriquez here not Lionel Messi - and if the talk is to be believed, we already have a replacement lined up anyway...

So you would have flogged him 12 months ago just in case he got injured in the up coming games and didn't return the same player he was? Nicely done.

Given they are about to spend £28m on Bony, they spent £48m in the summer and raised £23m in sales this means with their UEFA sanctions of a net spend of £49m they'll need to offload a few players before they even think about bidding for Rodriguez.

IF he comes back, playing as he was before the injury, next month, we will (bar significant injuries) have a very good chance for top 4.

Attack from Pelle, JayRod, Mane, Tadic, Elia, Long

Midfield from Schneidlerlin, Wanyama, Davis, JWP, Reed, Cork.

Not expecting / counting on him, but....

Perfect situation to keep Jay I would have thought. By the time he is close to the team we will have loads of options so that he can be eased back in slowly.

He's been great for us, and if he wants to stay, we need to do everything we can to keep him.

Particularly if we are serious about Europe next season - no point getting there and not being able to compete (like Liverhampton).

Well, if they're keen then maybe they can chuck Jovetic into the deal. Jovetic + 10m should do nicely...

Stephen J Harrison @StephenHM56 · 11h11 hours ago

A lovely evening with @JayRodriguez9 & his fiancé. Excited about his return @england @SouthamptonFC @BeswicksSports

Pretty sure this was not the official him or his fiance. Probably just some sad act pretending to be him. His official website does not mention that he had a lovely evening out with anyone

Following "I meant summer not last January" which completely changed the meaning and level of sense in your first post, and "in cable" above, people probably think the cap fits. Maybe take a bit more care about what you're actually saying rather than what you think you are and you won't come across how you have.

Yes I made 2 typos. I did mean I would have sold in the Summer if the rumoured interest from Spurs was high enough. As for 'in cable' that I can only assume was my phone auto correcting from incapable

I'd take £20m for him. The club aren't expecting him back anytime soon.

It's a risk selling him, but more of a risk buying him. IF he gets back to how he was before his injury then the fee is about right - but the chances of that happening lessen with every set back that he has.

If he doesn't get to being as good as he was - we've got ourselves a decent deal.

£20m for someone who only really had just over half a good season in the PL and can't walk 100 yards unaided is a no-brainer in my eyes.

Yes, I am sure selling our top scorer, a young english talent who is still improving and has great pace makes good sense. Those idiots who run the club who are close to the medical staff, the physios, consultants, the player himself and know more than anyone about his prospects and his recovery need to get on and sell now. Frankly they should take less to get the deal done

This board has some genuine LOL moments - This post along with the 'botched' operation one earlier in this thread are gold. Talk about people with no medical/sports rehab knowledge spouting off conjecture.

ACL tears are common within the sporting population and are regularly operated on by NHS Doctors with great success - I therefore find it highly unlikely that Jay's operation with the top knee specialist in the country was botched.

In most cases the ACL is re-constructed by grafting muscle fibres of Gracilis and the Hamstrings and inserting in place of the ACL. This can sometimes result in a reduction in power output of these muscles if left without sufficeint rehab - certainly not the case with the rehab team aorund him at Saints.

Best case scenario from this type of injury would of been November/December time, I suspect with the team doing as well as it has that they have decided against fast tracking him back and risk subsequent injury. If he has had a further operation then it could be to remove fluid, meniscal issues or a completely unrelated injury sustained during his rehab.

My guess - he'll be back to his best at the latter end of this season or at the start of next season - lets hope he is still here!

Your argument would be valid if he wasn't looking at over a year out with a VERY serious injury. The likelihood of him ever getting back to the form he showed for the 1/2 season before injury is declining. I'd cash in on him and get someone who can walk.

I'd be amazed if anyone was prepared to pay anything close to that right now. Which is probably why he's still here

Well, feck me, seems an ACL tear has no place in modern society, if a very misogynistic injury...
