Eastleigh game cancelled

Although not strictly related, I was going to this game with my dad and my uncle (since he supports Lincoln) but was called off because of a fire at the Hilton hotel. Had any one else planned on going to it?

Got there at 2.45 with a certain Club Historian, only to find people leaving the ground. We promptly turned round and headed back down Stoneham Lane, somewhat surprised that the previous hours rain had caused a postponement.

Do all non-league sides stay at hotels like the Hilton?

Have you ever stayed at that hotel? Personally I hope it burns to the ground.

About 10 of us were going to see it, surprised it's £15 a ticket.

Will probably never make the effort to see them again so it's a shame this happened.

£12 a ticket at Eastleigh, although £3 extra if you want to sit. This is cheap by Conference standards. Aldersot charge £17 to stand for example.

 

I wasn't going yesterday but have been to 4 games this season. They have some decent players there and have pumped a great deal of money into the club to achieve what they have.

The Eastleigh price looks good compared to the similar prices I saw on the gate at Bashley out in the Forest a few years back and that's for non-league 2-3 leagues below the conference!!!

 

I had a chat with CMFG at the Hilton years ago the day after we beat Liverpool with that glorious Riise OG, Brett Had not long joined from Blackpool and was staying there too with his family declining a pint in favour of afternoon tea with his missus.

Even if those Eastleigh prices are good compared to the competition, it's still high. I guess gate receipts are a vital income at that level so they need to price it as high as possible.

 

That said I was contemplating getting along to a few Eastleigh games this season. Not sure I will now...
