stevy777_x Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 injured himself yesterday. Groin injury, hope it isn't too bad and can play at Villa in 10 days.
farawaysaint Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhhh. We still have Cork at least
Saint Charlie Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Tadic was subbed off for Serbia but no mention of injury that Ive seen.
Saint Charlie Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 (edited) OS says Morgan had a scan on injury to right adductor. Now on way back to Soton for assessment. Bad time to pick up an injury with so many games coming up but we have had a good run injury wise until now. Edited 15 November, 2014 by Saint Charlie

Batman Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 please dont tell me it is all going to fall apart at the very same point as last year????
St Chalet Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Luckily midfield is probably the one area where we could lose 3 and still look ok. Wanyama, Cork and Tadic / Reed doesnt look as bad as Gazzaniga in goal on Long as lone striker.

John Cool Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Perhaps we could go 4-4-2 against Villa? ------ Pelle ----- Long ------- Tadic -- Cork -- Vic -- Mané
Saint Charlie Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Morgan tweet says his injury is not serious but needs supervision.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 If memory serves he's had an injury like this several times over the last few seasons.
farawaysaint Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Morgan tweet says his injury is not serious but needs supervision. Rest him at Villa anyway, let's be honest we don't really need our best DM pair when playing them as they have scored 1 in 7. I'm more concerned about the other end.
Saint_clark Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Perhaps we could go 4-4-2 against Villa? ------ Pelle ----- Long ------- Tadic -- Cork -- Vic -- Mané God no, our system relies on having the extra man in midfield at all times to win the ball.
simo Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Rest him at Villa anyway, let's be honest we don't really need our best DM pair when playing them as they have scored 1 in 7. I'm more concerned about the other end. Remember last time we expected to beat Villa easily! ?
Georgie Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Remember last time we expected to beat Villa easily! ? Hmm. However Gazzaniga was in goal, Yoshida at centre back and Wanyama went off at half time injured.
Evil Monkey Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Isn't Morgan suspended for Villa anyway?
TUS Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Isn't Morgan suspended for Villa anyway? No. However, I'd be inclined to rest him for this match in order to give him 2 full weeks recovery time for Man City. May depend on Davis fitness as well I guess. Wanyama, Cork and Reed @ Villa perhaps.
whelk Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Why anyone suggesting we don't give Cork a contact is a fool. We need to have confidence in our cover players
OldNick Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 this is why i never yearn for our players to go on international duty
Batman Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 this is why i never yearn for our players to go on international duty And why we won't finish top 4. We just don't have the squad, sadly Saying that, as I said further up, thank good for sky pushing this game out till the Monday night. And also, not a bad game to have a couple of players out.
Nolan Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 That's him out until the new year then... Harrison Reed will be due a run out against Villa.
Jack Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 That's him out until the new year then... Harrison Reed will be due a run out against Villa. Nothing has been said to suggest he'll be out for several weeks. Get a grip.
Saint_Tony Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 And why we won't finish top 4. We just don't have the squad, sadly Saying that, as I said further up, thank good for sky pushing this game out till the Monday night. And also, not a bad game to have a couple of players out. Exactly, the same happened this time last year. We simply don't have the same squad depth as the likes of Arsenal, Man City and Utd. We will soon realise why we can't possibly finish in the top 4. Let's just hope Morgan is ok for Villa. If him and Davis are out we'll be severely weakened in midfield
Lorne Malvo Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 I done an abductor last year, couldn't play for 3 weeks. I'm sure with his far superior fitness/conditioning along with top quality physio facilities he won't be out for long.
sentry Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 this is why i never yearn for our players to go on international duty Agree, but at the same time, if players were not being picked for their national teams while at Saints then they are even more likely to move on to the favoured clubs.
Nolan Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Nothing has been said to suggest he'll be out for several weeks. Get a grip. No grip needed cheers. Groin strains can not be rushed. I also don't have an issue with him being out when we also have cork and Wanyama.
Coxford_lou Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 @SchneiderlinMo4: Sad to be out of the Team because of my injury (which is not too serious but need to take it easy)Thank u 4 your support! #AllezLesBleus
Batman Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 What 4 teams have better central midfield options? I struggle to think of many. Proper central midfielders, not attacking midfielders etc. chelsea, erm, man city? Not a chance I'd swap wanyama and Morgan for fernando and fernandinho its the strength in depth. not better individual players
cellone Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 its the strength in depth. not better individual players we need more average players?
Batman Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 we need more average players? (Crazy as it sounds) more better players!!
Saint Charlie Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Especially when it looks like Mayuka and Mane could miss a month at the ACON. Attacking options would be very thin then. No way Jay can be sold in January really.
James Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 The man himself says not too serious so hopefully he's fine for Villa. As others have said, I wouldn't be too disappointed if he sat out Villa and was guaranteed to be available v Man City (i.e. no injury or suspension). Could be good news for us in the long run that both Morgan and Davis have withdrawn from international duty with what look like minor injuries.
scotty Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 this is why i never yearn for our players to go on international duty Yep, plus that sh*tstirring c*nt hodgson gets to tap them up for whatever chairman he had lunch with last week.
scotty Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 How bad is Henderson? Can't understand why he's still on the pitch.
ART Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Looks like Clyne's taken a hit. Don't forget the game against Scotland. All we need is Forster being annihilated .
Redslo Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 we need more average players? (Crazy as it sounds) more better players!! We need more players who are average for us.
CB Fry Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Yep, plus that sh*tstirring c*nt hodgson gets to tap them up for whatever chairman he had lunch with last week. Or, he doesn't do that at all.
Charlie Wayman Posted 15 November, 2014 Posted 15 November, 2014 Sorry Morgan but you must play at Villa Park. A couple of Paracetamol should fix it.
Dark Munster Posted 16 November, 2014 Posted 16 November, 2014 If they know that he has to miss 2 matches, he should limp on in the 89th minute against Villa, toss his shirt into the crowd, pick up the resulting yellow, and serve his suspension while recovering during the next match.
svetigpung Posted 16 November, 2014 Posted 16 November, 2014 How bad is Henderson? Can't understand why he's still on the pitch. I know. Its embarressing. An international CM player that doesn't really want the ball. He just points to someone else. Doesn't have a clue when he does get it. The other options (according to Woy) are not much better....Carrick, Milner, Barry. I would honestly prefer Cork before all of these. Wonder if Woy is pleased with himself after encouraging the ex-saints to move to a bigger club. Now they get limited play time, if they get any at all. What a plonker. Will he learn? Will he fck.
Lorne Malvo Posted 16 November, 2014 Posted 16 November, 2014 Carrick, Milner, Barry. I would honestly prefer Cork before all of these. Milner>Cork
Saint Charlie Posted 16 November, 2014 Posted 16 November, 2014 Tadic missing Serbia's friendly with a knee injury apparently according to svetac on the Intl thread. Hopefully just a precaution.
