The Next 4 Games Predication Thread

So four huge games coming up which will be pivotal (love that word) to the rest of the season.

Villa away - 0-2 win

City home - 2-2 draw

Arsenal away 2-0 loss

Utd home - 2-1 win

7 points out of 12 available which I would be very much happy with.

Your predictions?

I agree that you would be happy with this. That is my prediction.

I predict WLDD which is five points and wouldn't make me happy.

Villa away - 0-2 win - They don't look like scoring without Benteke. They'll probably park it like Leicester so we'll need to learn from our last game.

City home - 1-1 draw - Should be entertaining end-to-end. I said 1-1 draw but either team could snatch this 2-1.

Arsenal away 1-1 draw - Tough to beat them at Emirates but we match up really well. Mane's pace will destroy Chambers. Our mids are strong against their physically smaller players.

Utd home - 1-0 win - Fatigue may be an issue here for both teams. Can't see many chances being created. Could really go 1-0 either way.

Arsenal away L

Utd home - D

I would like to make it absolutely clear the above, while it looks like a prediction, as it is on a prediction thread, and looks much like all other predictions on prediction threads in history, it isn't.

Its a hypothetical set of results demonstrating detailed analysis or something but bears no relation to what I think will happen, although when challenged I will say it is what I could think might or could happen and it's all based on thorough analysis but I don't think it will happen or not, although hypothetically I do. Or don't.

Villa have only won one home game so far this season. Don't see them ending that run against us. 3 pts for us

City have conced 2 in 4 of their 6 away games. Mininmum of 1 pt for us, potentially 3.

Arsenal have only beaten 4 teams this season. All currently sit in 14th or below. 3 pt to us.

Man U have achieved 3 points from 15 away from home. Only 1 of those matches was against a team above 13th place. 3 Pts to us.

Absolutely nothing to fear in any of these matches. the MINIMUM we should achieve from these is 8 points.

This is the way to do it. Not a series of pointless back and forth bickering, but one good clever post. Thumbs up.

Could see us drawing all 4 games easily, and taking each game in isolation we would probably be happy with that, i.e. take a draw before each fixture. But 4 points out of 12 not great, so would rather win 2 lose 2; so anything over 7 would be really good no dramas, wheels coming off etc. Arsenal away the most difficult.

8 points, but I would be happy with just the win vs villa and draws in city and ars game and dont care about the man u one as I dont think they we be up there come the tail end of the season, they are just way too weak at the back.

When I looked at the fixture list at the start of the season I don't think I ever could have imagined predicting those results for us! These games will be tough but December is a tough month for us anyway with all the games and a couple of potential banana skins along the way.

Personally I think we'll be ok for these 4 though - Villa are shocking atm (although they should've beaten an equally shocking Spurs), City are hit and miss right now, Arsenal is one I am quite worried about but think we have the character to get a decent result, and the Utd game really depends on who they have fit at the time! Either way it'll be an interesting next period leading up to the christmas run-in.

All four are on TV right? 0 points then- possible one or two draws...

Has anyone done any real analysis on our TV win rate since back in PL

Must be someone with time on their hands.

2.78 pts per game not on TV this season

0 pts when on TV

Has anyone done any real analysis on the atmospheric pressure when we win, lose or draw?

Would be about as relevant.

Sky, and other broadcasters, mostly pick the games featuring their favoured 'Big Clubs' so Saints' games on TV have mostly been when playing against Man City, Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc and usually away. If the form book has changed so that Saints are the form team when the games are broadcast, the results are more likely to reflect that. Remember as well, that TV cameras are there for every Premier League game, so all that changes from being shown live is the time of KO.
